  1. Josie passed away too this past Monday. Her mom had posted a few things about her under H&M earlier this month. RIP Josie girl. http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php?showtopic=238540 ETA- I see that Josie's mom added her.
  2. Very sad. I am so sorry. Run free sweet girl.
  3. Ms. Elsie says... she will do fine. And in honor of Ms. Quilty, Elsie will be sporting her breast Cancer survior collar. Elsie had 5 tumors. The 1st one was the largest, about the size of a jelly bean- it was cancer but the margins were clean just beneath the skin- she was lucky, The next 4 came out 3 weeks later- all benign. As far as the anethesia- they used something extremely light and I could not believe she even had anethesia as she was just as much a nut case when I picked her up as when I dropped her off. I'm sure your vet will go as light as he can for the procdure.. She will be fine and we will keep your sweet girl in our thoughts and prayers.

    Heartthrob

What a sweet face. I am so sorry.
  5. As you know, our sweet Polli's time came to a very abrupt halt just 2months after she turned 10. The tragedy of it all was that Polli was sooooooooooooooooooooooo very young at heart. Although we thought and believed we beat the OS- it got her. Snuck up and just took her life away. It was only the last day that she told me- HELP ME. So, we did.
  6. I had one grey for 6 weeks and he was fine... BUT he was much better with 2! Now we have 4 and would have more if we had the the time for more!
  7. We all miss this incredibly special and inspirtational boy. His story was one of a kind, just like him..Whenever I think of him, I have such mixed feelings. From his intense bravery and courage to his exceptionally trusting nature. He is one hound that will never be forgotten. We all love Phoenix.
  8. Tell them to go lighter on the "gas" next time- it makes a huge difference. Beau drags after anethesia and he has had more anethesia than I can count. Elsie bounces back as if she never had it. Just like people, the dogs will vary as to how well they tolerate it. Hope she is feeling better soon.
  9. We walk immediately after breakfast and dinner for up to 40 minutes, however I never let them run or play hard unless it's 2 hours after eating. Walking oK Running- wait.
  10. yes, exactly. We let out Polli go when the light went out and we knew, just knew she did not want to be here anymore. I am so sorry you are both going through this.
  11. Absolutely gorgeous. Enjoy and welcome! I do hope your wife comes on board soon.
  12. I believe it's 48 hours- it is on the package and she will be fine around other dogs. Why do you need to bath her? In general, greyhounds don't need baths.
  13. yep, that's Beau. He's on only .5 mg but after all the time on the higher doses... that's the way he looks. I brushed him and couldn't believe what came off of him.
  14. A cowdoggie and a broodie- How perfect! HOW BEAUTIFUL! Congrats- wishing you many happy & healthy years together!
  15. least of our problems, but I was wondering if it will grow back thicker. Where they shaved him for the surgery in January has just started to grow back... just very thin.
  16. As most of you know, Beau had been a high dose (40mg) of pred since late January. 40 mg. A few weeks later, we upped the pred to 50mg and added in the imuran. It was at that time, Beau started to thrieve. He was steadily putting on weight and as early as March we lowered the pred slowly down to 30mg where we held for a while. We are down to .5mg and 12.5 mg of imuran a day (broken in 4). What I've noticed is that Beau's coat has thinned out majorly. I'm sure part of it is that it was summer so he "blew his coat" but I just brushed him and there was enough hair for a small dog. I have been brushing once a week. His coat once thick has thinned out. Anyone know for sure if that a reaction from the long term use of pred?
  17. From my Teddy to yours ( and the rest of my pack) Welcome from Long Island!
  18. Sending positive loving thoughts. She will be fine.
