  1. Out of the blue, Polli is not bearing any weight on her right front leg. She went out t 3AM and she was OK, but when we got up to start our day several hours later, I noticed a limp. She wanted to do the after breakfast walk, but I kept her home while DH took the others. I just gave her 50mg of deramaxx and will watch it for a few days. Last Sept. she had the same type of limp in the left front that underwent 2 sets of x-rays that were sent to different hospitals for viewing and they saw nothing. It took 6 LONG weeks to get better and then it was like nothing ever happened. Please pray that it's nothing but another soft tissue injury from jumping on and off our very, very high bed. As she gets older, I get more scared. She is almost 10. It's nothing, cause it just can't be.
  2. I'd take him in to the vet. Beau had some like that which needed stitches and antibiotics. Hugs to you both.
  3. Oh Mary, every time I see Polli in "Angies" coat, I think of your sweet angel. She lives on in many hearts.
  4. OH GD, What a heartbreaking story. I had gotten an email about this and I felt sick when I read it, but never-the-less prayed that this poor dog would get to safety and that someone could get him help. I am so saddened to read this.

    Sad Day

    So sorry to hear.
  6. I am so so sorry. You are right you did not get to love her long enough but you could not have loved her more. Run free, Dee.
  7. Oh no, I am so sorry. He was such a trooper for so long.
  8. I am shocked to see this. I am so sorry. We all know how much this special girl was loved.
  9. I'm SURE it's nothing but always good to hear that from the vet. We will say a prayer just because it can't hurt, but it's nothing, cuz it can't be!
  10. We only use greyhound gang. It's 100% pure. No additives. ALL proceeds go to help the hounds, not corporate America! www.greyhoundgang.com Claudia is very helpful if you have any questions.
  11. Unfortunately, your highness, the PITA, my sweet Polli did not like it at all. The past week or so, it's been a struggle but hopefully, she will start eating normal amounts again soon. We are averaging 1/2 to 1 cup of kibble with either wet food or boiled skinless chicken thighs as an addin but she did not like the nutritional yeast. BUMMER. On a good day, she will eat 1 3/4 cups dry with a cups worth of chicken or wet food. She seems to be maintaining her 58 pounds so I don't freak anymore. Frustrated, yes, freak, no.
  12. Oh, I am so sorry. I know that my Sasha & Blue (kitties) have welcomed her into their magical rainbow bridge kingdom. God Speed Meer. ETA- your vet sounds like one in a million.
  13. I consider all greyhound "special needs" for several reasons but for the purpose of your poll, I referred to my Chloe who I adopted at 2 years old as a bounce. She has hypothyroidism and will be on meds for life. I believe she also has an underlying neurological issue which surfaces from time to time (head tremors) which I hop gets no worse.
  14. We went 3.5 weeks (I could not believe it. I give them so many freaking supplements I lost track. I feel like a chemist at meal time) and the vet said, no problem. We just picked up where we left off.
  15. OH LINDA! I am so happy and relieved for you. May she continue to feel better and better. Continued prayers for your beautiful baby girl.
  16. I am ordering the one from the site Judy gave me, thank you Judy. Hope your highness , Polli likes it too! The one Xan said was Red Star. This site has KAL, are they all the same? I guess if Ms. Emmy likes it, it's got to be the real deal!!!
