  1. I second the raw feeding. I had a foster who was bounced for many of the same issues that you describe. He was kibble fed, and the owners refused to try anything else, because "their other greyhound did just fine on kibble". I tried to explain to them that like people, not all food are suitable for all dogs---there could be issues with allergens, etc., but they wouldn't have a bar of it. They just thought he was being "difficult". After a few days of raw feeding, he was like a different dog. His urinary issues cleared, up his poop was just the right consistency, his coat was beautiful, and he was bright and happy. Maybe you could try raw feeding Sage for a few weeks and see how she goes? ETA: Sounds like Ol' "Mud-Butt" might benefit from raw feeding too

  7. Tiny was a legend. I know you know how sad I am for you, but one more ... Do you still have a copy of the thread you posted when he first came to live with you? It was a conversation between the two of you and it made me cry from laughing. I'd love to read it again, and I'm sure others would too...

    Strider

Oh, Meg I am so sorry to see Strider's name here. :grouphug
  9. Me, too. He is just one of those hounds that has always had that "special something" And had one of the coolest names of any hound on GT. I am so, so sorry
  10. Thanks, everyone, for your kind suggestions/offers. I spoke with my friend today, and apparently when they did the exploratory surgery yesterday they removed at least some of the tumor, which seems to have relieved some of the pressure and restored continence. This is probably temporary, but it will give me a bit of time to whip some bands up myself. But if you could spare some good thoughts for Jellybean (and for Sue), that would be great
  11. A friend of mine got the devastating news today that her 12-year-old hound has inoperable cancer . It has wrapped itself around his kidneys, making him completely incontinent. She has taken him home to spend what time she has left with him, and would like to make his time as comfortable and dignified as possible. She has asked me to see if I can get a belly band for him, and I can't seem to find them here. Is there anyone here that I can order one from and have it shipped ASAP?
  12. Michelle, there are just no words. I'm stunned. And heartbroken for you :weep :grouphug
