  1. Previous post on Stud Tail http://forum.greytalk.com/index.php/topic/278341-bare-spot-on-upper-tail/
  2. I was checking for an update on Neko. Prayers and white light for Neko and his humans.
  3. A full refund of your registration fee will be issued. Individuals who paid online will be issued refunds to their credit card within three business days and will receive a receipt by email. 4. We had a dog eat Decon and bleed like that. The vet treated her with mega doses of Vitamin K. She did recover. Anyway he could have gotten into some poison or been poisoned?
  5. RE: DR KELLOGG and OSU. You can email her the first post and photo's so she picks it up on her email. I'm sure you would have her attention.
  6. I would email Dr Kellogg at OSU. If he were my baby we would by on our way up to OSU in Columbus Ohio. We live in Tennessee but Neko is very sick. You could email her the photo's and lab work. c Christine Kellogg(christine.kellogg@cvm.osu.edu)
  7. Is there any word on how Freddy's surgery went?
  8. I'd wait for Dr Kellogg and OSU. We live in SouthWestern TN and make the trip up to Ohio.
  9. You might want to have a consult with Dr Dyce at Ohio State University. He is the head of orthopedic surgery. He might know of a new surgery that will help with the problem. You might start with emailing Dr Kellogg with the Greyhound Health and Wellness Prgram at OSU. The program is working with a couple of racetracks bringing the more severely injuried greyhounds to OSU for surgery. My greyhound now has a prostetic leg because she is missing a foot. Maybe your greyhound could use a protective brace to prevent injury once he is back together. I really do not know, just an idea. 10. You can cut off the bottom ribbing on an old t-shirt and tie it around him to hold the new t-shirt in place. We had one with a huge wound on him from a dog fight. He had t-shirts and coats on him so he couldn't get to the wound. I think I wrapped a beach towel on top of the coat. He just sat there. It was too much trouble to try and move.
  11. That's what I would have done. It would be too late on Wednesday to close it anyhow. Keep him from licking it and making it bigger. Put ointment on it. You might consider putting a t-shirt on him to keep him away from the wound. Just know this is the first of many, he's a greyhound
  12. Maybe her food is disagreeing with her. What food is she on? She might need a low residue food. Not all bags of the same dog food are created equal. Did you start a new bag of food?
  13. We used the Top Paw Natural Oatmeal Shampoo. It is not a flea shampoo so does not have any of the flea chemicals in it. We would also use shots of the Adams Flea and Tick Mist to kill the fleas already there. Just a short direct spray right on the fleas. Then we would take a flea comb and comb them out. The flea comb also combs out the flea dirt. We would also lightly spray her bed, rugs and furniture. I would think any Natural oatmeal shampoo would be fine.
  14. We have used Frontline Plus on all our seizure greyhounds. We used it on Ava when we fostered her also. Dr Couto said it was OK to use. Having the fleas can cause all sorts of problems for them. We use Oatmeal Shampoo for bathing. Also keeping them clean with hanidwipes.
  15. Another vote for Acupuncture and Chiropractic care. Our vet also has a whirlpool tub for the dogs. I always wanted to go in for treatment also.
  16. I would lay a large washable incontient pad for you both to sleep on. I have done that and it wasn't for the dog. I agree with you about not adding any meds. If she is doing find, do not want to rock the boat.
  17. I would email Dr Kellogg at OSU and get her in the loop. You can email her today as she does check her email. Christine Kellogg(christine.kellogg@cvm.osu.edu)

  19. We do not have the other hounds present for this event. It is hard enought on us. We do believe in bringing them another greyhound within a few days.
  20. It's a "Greyhound Thing". This is a good website for new (and old) greyhound owners to bookmark. Grassmere Animal Hospital in Nashvillel TN has a greyt section on greyhounds on their website. New greyhound owners should beware of the "Happy Tail". Also the "Scream Of Death" or "SOD". One experience and you will never be the same. http://www.grassmere...l.htm#Comedones
  21. One of our greyhounds was DX with this Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)—also known as maldigestion last week. It is a very scary problem, everyone should be aware of this. Does anyone else have any experience with this. Our greyhound was down to 42 pounds when the proper DX was made. http://www.epi4dogs.com/
  22. I think she likes her prosthetic. She doesn't fall as much now. She balances better when she potties. She looks for her "foot" when I get the lead out for a walk. Sometimes when I take it off, she looks at me as if to say "what are you doing".
  23. We take in spooks also. There are spooks and then there are true spooks. DH would have to crawl in the crate and pry her paws away from the bars of the crate to get her out. When she goes out the front door she crawls on her stomach. DH usually carries her, even after 8 years. She does enjoy sitting in her rocking chair and rocking.
