NeylasMom
Dogs supposedly have different gut bacteria than we do, but there's some overlap so a human one won't do any harm. Any without other stuff in it will probably be fine. An added prebiotic can be helpful. Zoomdoggie
I used to use "processed" probiotics, but an old trainer told me buttermilk or kefir is better, kefir being best. I put a couple tablespoons of unflavored/unsweetened kefir in our greyhound's food 3-4x/week.
XTRAWLD
Coincidentally, I just bought keifer for Ryder for the first time, so trying it shortly! I do have human ones I've used. I'm just not sure how to tell any of it works! seeh2o
I also give a heaping tablespoon whole fat Greek yogurt. She loves that and it's good for her! Zoomdoggie
Whether you use yoghurt or kefir, just make sure it's plain and unsweetened. I switched from yogurt to kefir, because yoghurt has lactose in it (sugar), and kefir does not. Also, kefir has a LOT more probiotics in it than yoghurt.
