GreyStella
Stella has an unflavoured, hollow white bone. She won't chew it. Do you think it would be ok to boil it in chicken broth, cool it and see if she likes it better? Im worried it will cook the bone and make it unsafe. Thoughts? Guest goofydog2
How about just 'painting' the bone with broth inside & out then letting it dry?
DocsDoctor
If it is hollow you could also try poking something like peanut butter or cream cheese into it for her to lick out - may get her interested in chewing too. kronckew
if it's a commercial hollow white store bought doggy bone, it's been cooked and is already unsafe. if it's leftover from a hunk of real meat you personally cut out of before cooking it, or got from a real butcher (not a supermarket one that has never actually cut up a cow), do the painting or soaking in broth. if it's a cow leg bone it's also possible a dog chewing on it may break a tooth, raw OR cooked. raw turkey necks are better and safer. FiveRoooooers
Stuff it with a mix of instant mashed potatoes and a bit of kibble then freeze. GeorgeofNE
I vote for going back to the pet store and buying a bone with some meat on it. Quote Susan, Hamish, Mister Bigglesworth and Nikita Stanislav. Missing Ming, George, and Buck

GreyStella
I got her one of those large, stinky cow knuckle bone things. Its gross but she loves it and her teeth look much cleaner.
