Chicken Sens.=Egg Sens.?

Angie is sensitive to chicken. Does that mean she is sensitive to eggs? If the prescription food doesn't work, then I'm willing to try a chicken-free version of Iams, but it has eggs.

I would tend to think she would be sensitive to eggs if she's sensitive to chicken. I get myself tested regularly for food sensitivities and if I test sensitive to cow's milk, I always test as sensitive to beef as well, even though I haven't eaten beef for 30 years. Makes sense to me, as it's the same animal, but I don't know if it always works this way.

not necessarliy, also many many kibbles that are chicken free have chicken fat! i called one of the manufacturers and spoke to a customer service person about the chicken fat. they said, the fat doesn't process the same way as the meat. one of my dogs is sensitive to chicken, no problem w/ the fat, no problem w/ eggs. but eggs are a treat not a regular add-in.

Is she sensitive to plain old chicken, or did she just not do well on a kibble with chicken in it?

Only asking because kibbles have a *lot* of ingredients, and it can be very difficult to determine which ingredient causes a problem. For example, dogs here have tended to do poorly on kibbles with sunflower or canola oils as opposed to animal fat.
