Guest Maloy
It was exactly 4 years ago today that we had to let our sweet fawn, elegant boy go to the Bridge. Hamie turned 10 and two weeks later he was gone. We were in shock. He was a rehome and we had 3.5 wonderful years with him. He was perfect. We called him our "corn doggie" as he had corns on all feet. We still think about him everyday and are grateful for the time we did have. He is with us and looks out for us. I know that he had a hand in sending our senior foster to us. Maloy came labelled as not small animal friendly. He lives with a cat and on our walks never bothers the small animals. However, he does have issues with other dogs (big and small) but he is getting better. Over the past year, he has settled in very well and because of his age will stay with us until he joins Hamie at the bridge. Hamie and Maloy together would have been quite the pair. Hamie, tall and elegant (like Fred Astaire) and Maloy, little less elegant (more like a bull in a china shop). Hamie, your dad and I miss you and love you very much. Keep prancing through the stars and looking out for us.

racindog
God bless Hammie! What a sweet remembrance post. Indeed he is with you always. How wonderful that he sent you Maloy. Their love is so strong-they do indeed never leave us. "For love is as strong as death.... Many waters cannot quench love, nor can the floods drown it. If a man would give for love all the wealth of his house, it would be utterly despised." -Song of Solomon 8:6-7 "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart." "What we have enjoyed we can never lose…All that we love deeply becomes a part of us."-Helen Keller
