juliemac
you know we're all praying for Yaz --- and the waiting is DEFINITELY the worst, especially when there aren't any answers coming back from your tests. Please call if you need help getting him somewhere! And if you don't have him on probiotics or you & the vet want him to try some different foods, please let me know and we can raid my fridge & cabinets for some other options to see what might work well for him. gentle hugs to you & Dave (& spazzy yazzy of course). Tell him Auntie Julie's waiting for a kiss!

maryz
My Sherri was doing this last spring. Tests showed no abnormalities. Since then she has been given a 20mg Pepcid about 20-30 minutes before breakfast. The doctor said she might have excess stomach acid. She has been fine since. Good luck and keep us posted. Guest greytcritters
Thank you again all for the prayers! Thank you also for telling me of your experiences help me to be thorough. Doctor says nothing interesting on his blood work, all organ function normal. Soooo he is to have 3-4 smaller meals a day w/increased pro-biotics. I know he wont mind that! 4 whatever reason he is just not digesting his food properly. If this doesn't work then the next step. Please pray he doesn't throw up his food again and starts to put on the 8 lbs he lost! So far today he has kept the 2 cups from today down. Sleeping more than usual but hey this lovely Chicago weather, what else is there to do! LOL

RobinM
Sending lots of prayers for Yaz.Is he throwing up immediately after eating or a little bit later? I am going through this with my Chloe who is 6.5 She was checked twice. The 2nd time was last Monday and we did a full panel. Her labs were perfect, she checked out physically fine. Nothing obvious in the abdomen. Chloe had been throwing up an hour or 3 after she ate. YES that is Yaz too! I brought in the treats he gets, food label to Kirkland, Fresh Factors, Joint Health, Vitamin E, no allergies It is anywhere from an 1-4 hours after eating. Doesn't seem to matter amount of activity and the food is not that well digested, you can still see any fresh factors/fish oil caps/treats ect in amongst the dog food mush Thank you RobinM I know have more hope this is something fixable, since your fur baby is doing better! I hate when they say they don't know what it is and of course THE WAITING GAME!!!! Thank you all for the prayers and please keep the good thoughts coming! Well, it's not a diagnosis, but my vet did say that if they are throwing up, it's MUCH better if it's after they have eaten rather than eating and puking. So... that is a good thing!!! As of today, we are 9 days no pukey. We did start probiotics to help with digestion of her food. I am sure Yaz will be ok too. Guest dancewkathylee
Horribly frustrating when there is no diagnosis. My girl has been limping for weeks and after extensive work up and major GI upset, we still don't know why she is limping. Boiled chicken and rice only in frequent small feedings settled her tummy though. Had a lot less poop to pick up too. Good luck with your baby! Guest greytcritters
OK so now I had a chance to talk to ALL the doctors and the radiologist. Apparently the areas on the X-Ray that were questionable were fluid pockets partly caused by the inflammation. The only way to confirm what they were was to do the ultrasound. Inflammation of the mucosa of the small intestine, pancreas and esophagus, none of which showed up on the blood panel. Also doing the ultrasound we found out Yaz has a smaller than normal liver and a very large spleen! He is having a few more blood tests and a bile acid test to determine the functionality of his liver, all enzymes are w/in normal parameters which is not always with gastro issues, usually enzymes are off. It would have been nice to have found all this out w/the blood test and an x-ray like the usual cases...would of saved A LOT of tears and worry and lack of sleep by all of us humans that care about the Yaz. One never wants to hear that there is an abnormality on any organ! But all of that is over because THE YAZ IS GOING TO BE JUST FINE!!!!! THE PRAYERS WORKED!!!! THANKS BIG GUY UPSTAIRS!!!! Tonight there is a round of yogurt and chewies at the Zoo! Yaz will be getting something too... Thank you all again... doing the happy dance over here...in the words of Ren and Stimpy "HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY...HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY...HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY JOY JOY JOY!!!!"
