Guest 8_Greyt_Greys Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 Luke was not acting right so he went to the vets New years Eve. They found a kidney infection. Came home with meds. Did not seem to be getting any better. Won't eat hardley anything. Back to the vets yesterday and x-rays show a tumor on the liver about the size of a small orange. He is on pred,. med to coat the stomach,baytril and amoxicillion. I am force feeding him evey 2 hrs. Our vet said if he does not eat this it it. how long and what should i be watching for. I'm assuming they can't surgically remove it? Guest mcsheltie Posted January 6, 2011 Share Posted January 6, 2011 I am so sorry to hear this. Antibiotics take a minimum of 3-4 days before they start to work. So hopefully that coupled with the Pred will help him to feel better tomorrow or the next day. Fluids would help too. Even when they don't seem dehydrated it gives their system a boost. Try meat babyfood, Hills a/d or homecooking... that is what tempted mine to eat when they really didnt want to (at their respective ends). baytril is hard on tummies...what med for his stomach is he on? might need a heavy duty like Sucralfate (sp?)? He was my love bug our big blue boy that loved m&G. , his stuffies and soft bed. I love you big boy. Judge and Sand will show you around. Till we come together again..
