Prayers And Good Thoughts For Milo, Please

Recommended Posts

A week and a half ago, Milo, our three and a half year old greyhound had some x-rays and a fine needle biopsy on a little bump on his front wrist. He came through great and our vet sent the results to Dr. Couto at OSU. It seems that although there is no obvious signs of osteosarcoma yet, the cells weren't quite right. Dr. C. recommended another biopsy to get a deeper sample and so tomorrow Milo will be having another procedure. It's been an emotional roller coaster, to say the least. We are grateful that our handsome fellow is feeling fine - no pain, great appetite, playing and running - but we are of course worried out of our minds.

It would be a great support to know that we had the prayers and good thoughts of the Greytalk community with us tomorrow morning when we bring him in again.

Here he is, in his getting ready to watch "Lost."

Thanks,

Thanks to everyone for their prayers and good wishes for Milo.

He had a chest x-ray and it was clear - no sign of mets. Since they can't seem to pin down the diagnosis yet, Dr. Couto and our vet thought it best to check to see if there was anything in his lungs, but they're clear, so that is a positive thing.

The biopsy went well and so now we just wait for the pathologist's report.

Milo had a rough night last night - a long stressful day at the vet, a sore paw and the lingering effects of the anesthetic, etc made for a long night of whimpering and general not-feeling-good. Nobody here slept much.

He's a little better this morning (thank goodness for Metacam). He's eaten everything we've offered him and was able to do his business outside, despite the annoyance of the cold and snow.

It meant so much to us that you all took the time to reply to our message and send us positive thoughts. We'll keep you posted.

Here's a picture of Milo, taking a break from "helping" in the garden.

Sending lots of prayers and hugs. Let's think positive thoughts for an easily treatable diagnosis.
