krissn333
I took Ace in to the vet this morning for further examination after her bloodwork came back really scary. I picked up some Doxy from the vet on Thursday morning, so she's been on it since then. He took a needle aspiration of one of her mandibular lymph nodes and looked at it under a microscope. He said he doesn't see any cancerous cells but there's definitely something going on (lots of microphages, etc.). While we were there he also did a snap test for TBDs and everything was negative. So, she's on the doxy and will finish that out. Recheck in a month, unless her condition worsens or I notice swollen lymph nodes. Yay for no cancer! I just hope she can fight off whatever this is that's keeping her down. Since we were going to the vet today, I took in a urine sample from Fritz. He's been peeing in the house! He definitely has a UTI. I could tell just by LOOKING at his urine. So, we have cephalexin for him. Guest Energy11
Congrats on the "no cancer call ..." I feel Goldie's mandibular lymph nodes are swollen as well. She see the vet a week from tomorrow. I am hoping for the best, as the rest of her lymph nodes are normal. Seems like you got everything straightened out! Good luck and lots of love! RobinM
Congrats on the NO CANCER! Hopefully, Doxy will knock out whatever is keeping her down. Unfortunately, age has nothing to do with it. Diseases and getting sick is just something that happens, young and old. Not sure at this point if it is a virus or an infection. If it is an infection, the Doxy should knock it out. If it's a virus antibiotics won't do anything per se, but, the Doxy will help stabilize her system apparently (that's what the vet said this morning).
