Our 10-year-old beloved family dog Muffers died in her sleep sometime this morning. She had fought cancer and beat it for 3 years. It recently came back and she couldn't fight anymore. She must have been happy and at peace...yesterday she played ball and ran. My mom said that last night she was very tired. Muffers came to my family years and years ago when the humane society found her and her puppies hit by a car and left for dead on the side of the road. She was the only survivor. Lucky, our dalmatian, picked her out at the pound. They rescued her and took her to the vet and saved her. They named her Sandy but somehow (no clue how) she became Muffers. Two years ago I lost Lucky, our Dalmatian. He was Muffer's best friend. Her loss has hit us all pretty hard. But I'm sure they are together again, pain free and catching up at the rainbow bridge.
