Guest houndlover Posted May 23, 2009 Share Posted May 23, 2009 I know some of you have been following Billy's medical issues for the past several months and I wanted to thank you for all of the suggestions and kind words. I decided early this morning that it was time to end my sweet boy's suffering. He had been at a 24hour facility overnite, had rec'd 2 blood transfusion and was still vomiting blood and had bloody diarrhea. Seeing him laying there was the most painful thing that I have had to endure but knowing that I was able to end his suffering has made it a bit easier. There was no way that he could go on like this....he just seemed to go downhill so quickly. Yesterday afternoon the vet called to say he could come home b/c he was up walking around and bright and alert and in a matter of hours it all changed. Billy came into my life 5.5yrs ago as a foster that I decided to keep b/c he had several behavior issues. He challenged me in many ways with his behavior problems but I never gave up on him. After lots of hard work he came to trust me and I completely respected him. My life was never the same after I adopted him and I wouldn't change it for a minute. I loved him dearly and my heart is broken right now. I hope he knew how much I loved and cared for him and that if I had known that things were going to end this way that I never would have let him suffer the way he did....not for one minute.
