Guest ThreeGreys
Ho everyone . about a 2 weeks ago just before getting my girls settled for the night I noticed Cheer who is 11 yrs old rubbing her mouth on the couch so I checked her out and found that it was swollen and hard. I took her to the vet had an X ray which really didnt show much. She was put on Clavimox and prendisone. Since then it seemed that the mass went down. Well yesterday her lower jaw swelled out more and this morning I took her in for xrays under sedation and blood work. The vet showed me the x rays and you can definitely see something there and her blood work showed that her platlets were off. The vet is making an appointment for her at the Cornell university to have them check her out. This really bogles my mind that 2 hours prior to me noticing this 2 weeks ago she was fine. I will do anything for her she is my first grey and hold a special spot in me. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas. dante2zoe
I have no direct experience. One of my cats had something similar and the vet was concerned. He palpated the mass and a piece of grass came out! He had some type of abcess and was treated with antibiotics. Paws crossed for a treatable condition! Remolacha
this is a long shot, but it sounds kind of like when my mother had an infected salivary gland. whatever it turns out to be, I hope it turns out to be minor and treatable!
