Guest Flysmom
I received the results of Fly's Needlebiopsy today. It is not Osteosarcoma. The results say it is a atypical appearance of the Spindlecells - I have to research that tonight. We still do not know if the Tumor he has is is begnin or malignent. The vet recommended to go to a specialist tomorrow to see if they can do surgery and remove the Tumor or if we need to amputate, do Chemo and so on. He also called in an RX for Prednisone , after I told him that the leg and the paw are swollen to triple the size (I actually asked him for something for the paw all last and this week and he kept telling me that there is nothing he can do). Today it actually started to seep fluid and the swelling is going down due to the drainage.. Off we go tomorrow to the surgeons and I so hope that they have some good news for us. We are on a emotional rollercoaster for the last 6 weeks. We started out with a sprained muscle diagnosis, then to a torn CCL, after X-rays we were told it is Arthritis and treated with Adequan, then a 2nd opinion was recommended and the new vet took more X-rays last week and saw grey granulations tissue and did the needle biopsy. Now, he sends us to a specialist. I am emotionally drained, I feel like I should have taken Fly to a specialist right away rather than tying to help him locally. Cross your paws and fingers for us! Guest Flysmom
Atypical appearance of Spindlecells mean a Spindlecell Tumor or Fibrosarcoma. Which can only be treated by removing the Tumor or with aggresive tumors (like ours probably is) amputation. It is not treatable with Chemo... That is what I found on the net. I so hope they are wrong!
