Hubcitypam
One of the vets we work with a lot called today to let us know that a new daycare dog (a pug) had been diagnosed with salmonella.
MerlinsMum
Ouch! I wonder if it's because of the peanut foot recall? I know some dogs treats were affected. Maybe her humans gave her a contaminated treat... I hope she feels better soon! Quote Kerry with Lupin in beautiful coastal Maine. greysmom
Could be, or maybe she got some contaminated people food. greysmom Quote Chris - Mom to: Felicity (DeLand), and Andi (Braska Pandora) siggy by Chris Harper, on Flickr Angels: Libby (Everlast), Dorie (Dog Gone Holly), Dude (TNJ VooDoo), Copper (Kid's Copper), Cash (GSI Payncash), Toni (LPH Cry Baby), Whiskey (KT's Phys Ed), Atom, Lilly
Hubcitypam
I'd hate to think the teeny bit of peanut butter in a dog treat could make a dog sick even if the PB had it. It was just weird as no vet has ever called and volunteered that info before.
Batmom
It's pretty easily passed from critter to critter, including people. Probably why he called -- so people could be diligent about cleanup and handwashing. Dogs who aren't sick often shed some salmonella, but if this dog is sick from it, could also be a strain many dogs/folks aren't resistant to.
