Burpy The Dog

My dog seems to burp a lot. Having really nothing to compare her to, is this normal? No farting, at least none that we can hear or smell. She is still eating regularly. Basically, everything seems right with the world, I've just noticed over the past month or so that she burps a lot.

A couple of ours burp so loud you can hear them in the next room.. I have accused the DH many times and it is usually Softee and it is nothing for them to do it right in my face :lol

If she's always been a burper, I wouldn't worry about it. If this is something NEW, not sure what to tell you! Some dogs burp a lot. I've found it very odd that in the 15 months I've had my Greyhound, I've only heard him burp once! My old dog (non grey) burped a lot. In fact I think he got a kick out of walking up to me, pretending he wanted to give me kisses, and burping right in my face!

George rarely farts either! Hmmmm. I'm pretty glad about that.

I had never noticed that Arty burped, but then at our last playdate, one of the other grey moms said Arty had walked by her husband and let out this enormous burp, like a teenage boy's belch. She said she thought it was her husband for a moment. :lol

Could be she is eating too fast. Does she have a raised feeder? That can help them not suck in to much air while eating.

I have a girl that eats to fast and then has the burps. I make her push a little cup around with her nose in the dog bowl. This slows her down some.

Interesting, her bowl is raised but she does make her food disappear very quickly. Looks like I'll be trying the chain in the bowl to see what happens.

Thanks for the insight

If this is new, and very distinct, it might be worth checking out with your vet. Not to scare you, but when my angel dog had lung cancer, burping, panting, and coughing was the first sign something was wrong. If it's just after-dinner burps, please ignore me!

I think it's more of an after eating thing. I'll have to keep a closer eye on it. Sure, it's entertaining, but I would hate to ignore something and have it be a major problem

we say that Rainey has a "burp button". :P It's pretty much everywhere on her body, she burps like you wouldn't believe so we say we've hit her burp button whenever she lets one rip. Which is all the time. I've never seen such a diva princess that burps to such an excess like a frat boy. :lol :lol :huh
