Guest msheldon
I've actually been gone from this forum so long my account didn't exist anymore. I guess it's been three or four years. But, things have come back around again. I'm making collars again and I've been paying more attention to the greyhound world outside of my own group again. And just for added insanity, I've embarked on building the ultimate greyhound transport vehicle. No more crowding them into the back of my truck. This one's got room to stretch out, and air suspension for a smooth ride.

greypuppyluv
Welcome back! Rebuilding the bus looks like a very big undertaking, but I'm sure it will turn out very cool. I can't wait to see it completed! Guest msheldon
The bus is definitely a big project. We expect it to take another two years to be fully complete, though I expect it to be in usable condition within a year. It's drivable now, but the wiring is in bad shape, so I don't trust it for anything more than local runs. I think so far we've removed over 500 pounds of material and random junk from her. Batmom
As the bus project progresses, I'll bet you could do some great fundraising having it at events and offering tours (of the bus) for a small donation. I'd be first in line. Welcome back! Guest msheldon
Once the bus is on good shape, we plan on taking it to classic car shows, and giving out adoption info.

Guest msheldon
Glad to see you back!! Are you going to make more of your beautiful checkbook covers as well as collars? My DD & I met you in Kanab in '03 & got several things from you then. All of the leather items will be coming back over the next few months, the covers are available now. The artwork on the covers is by Mik Wilkens. She has been running CarpeCanem.com for some time, and now she and I are working together as business partners. So that is where you will find what we're working on. It's funny, I stopped doing the leatherwork because I didn't feel I had enough time. It's not that I have any more time now, probably less, but I really missed doing leatherwork, and folks kept nagging me to make collars, so here I am again. My big guy is still wearing it and I still love it! Heh, the downside to making leather collars is that you don't get a lot of repeat business. Leather goods that are taken care of last a very long time. I've got belt pouches, equipment bags, belts, etc that I've had for many years, and will probably never need to be replaced. The upside is that I don't have to spend my time replacing my own hound's collars regularly.
