Would the preparation and knowing have made it any easier? For me, I think the answer is no. I am not good at long goodbyes. I am not good at letting go. And sometimes I think they aren't either - which is why they choose to leave us when we least expect it. Quietly, in sleep, when no one is looking. Many hugs from us. Even with a notice or warning, we are never prepared but take comfort in knowing that she went to the bridge peacefully.
