RobinM Posted June 2, 2007 Share Posted June 2, 2007 Beau has been home from hospital since noon. He's a bit stressed out. He did eat, but he obviously not up to par. He is lying in his bed, not sleeping but panting intensely. I am not supposed to medicate him as they gave him todays dose already and the next dose is tomorrow. He otherwise seems OK. Is the panting just stress? I did call earlier and mention he was panting, I asked if maybe he needed more pain meds, they said no. He was given Deramaxx this morning. It's warm in the house and he's stressed. It's hard to relax when he's so uptight. I'm sure tomorrow will be better. If not, I will ask. When Oliver had his recent vestibular disorder episode the vet said we wouldn't have to bring him in (if he had another episode)but to make sure that if he pants heavily that we keep him cool. Can you take his temperature. Trying to remember...that day Oliver's temp was over 105 (bad) and today Gracie's temp at the vet was 101 (good). If an evet can't give you any help please PM Burpdog. Do you have fans to put in the room he's sleeping in? Try some wet cloths on his foot pads, neck and belly. RobinM Posted June 2, 2007 Author Share Posted June 2, 2007 (edited) How is he doing this morning? HE'S SO QUIET. Which is soooo weird! Normal I know under the circumstances, but still so weird. He is a very vocal puppy. I miss his silliness. Definitely better in some ways. No panting. He seemed to settle down during the evening. He screamed when he attempted to get him up and out this morning. Not knowing if it was the pain, scared or being Beau. Maybe a little of each. He went out and pee'd. He had no interest in an after breakfast walk so we let him be figuring he won't pee and poop all over himself. :/ Sigh. We are all just hanging out doing nothing today, but doing it together. I am taking off Monday and Tuesday and we are looking for a "nanny" to stay at the house with him Wed.Thurs. & Fri. If anyone knows of anyone who can sit at our Oceanside, LI home for a few hours each day next week, please PM me. They don't have to do anything. Watch tv, eat, play video games, computer... just keep Beau company and make sure no one accidently steps on him.
