While I'm sure this is correct, it's also true that the older we/they get, the more we/they feel the little things like sleeping wrong. At least, that's what I find. I hope it's nothing serious, and that some pain medication and a good sleep have him feeling better by tomorrow.

I love water treadmills. I hope it works well for Autumn.

The major side effects seem to be: Pee a lot, drink a lot, eat a lot. I have heard of personality changes (aggression), but not seen it. Minnie was once on such a high dose that she started "shedding". Here's some stuff on pred at PetPlace.com (see Precautions and Side Effects). I'm not fond of the side effects, but pred has saved two of my girls (one canine, one feline) and I'll use it again if need be. ETA: I sure hope it works for Oscar.

Welcome!! I don't know if boys whine--I don't have any--but I do know that there are huge individual differences. My whiner is Edie. She got a lot quieter once she'd settled in (and once she realized that I don't respond well to whining).
