I'm so glad that they found the blockage. I hope he recovers quickly and completely. FWIW, one of the vets at my clinic had to do a foreign body surgery on her own great dane, and found not only what he had just eaten (a sofa cushion, if I recall correctly), but other items that had disappeared months earlier.

Eating and pooping outside are great; here's hoping for a bit more stability.

Perry has had two of those. The first, which bothered her, turned out to be grass seeds embedded in her skin. The second, which didn't bother her until a young vet tried (and failed) to drain it, has since been removed. I'm inclined to visit the vet, but I do that too much anyway. You could try soaking the foot in epsom salts or something to see if you can get the lump to drain.

Tylocine can be used long term too. I've used it a lot with Minnie (IBD) and Edie.

Well, she may be right about the false positives, but that doesn't mean that there isn't any benefit. If you avoid the positives, and things improve, you're ahead. Testing has sure helped with my girls.
