  1. I don't know which is better but Sam's usually has memory foam beds for less then $30.

Dont have Sam's store around here... :unsure

the lowess ortho bed ar at Costco online at 65$US (80$CND) shipping included...36 in. x 40 in. x 4 in. Extra-dense convoluted foam...

  2. Syn-Flex here.

Liquid Glucosamine Sulfate and HCL, shark cartilage containing 20% chondroitin sulfate, boswellin, yucca powder, manganese ascorbate, bromelain, vitamin C, omega 3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids, vitamin E, and vitamin A.

1 bottle last for about 2 months.. it taste real sweet... Tuffy eats anything and is food driven so no problem geving him this.. ;)

I do mix it with his morning yogourt.. not really because it upset his belly, it's just more easy to give..

  3. Talk to the vet last evening on the phone... after the description of the situation (in my maiden language, maybe the description I made of it here in English did sound more like a "worm" problem but it's really not, Tuffy does not scratch his bottom on the floor, He walks with a arch back. It did look like he wanted to poop, that's how I would describe it, but it's a arch back walk... :blush I have difficulties some times with my English :blush )

The Vet point out that it could be arthritist of the spine... Tuffy already has it in one hip... and He did slip a couple of times this winter on icy side-walks so it could have emplified the pain related to this..

We started him on syn-flex this week (liquid gluco) and will see..

    Thanks for your replies. :)

  4. yeah.. :blush I thought of that.. nothing strange in his poop... maybe I'll get his poop analyse on his spring check up at the vet.. ;)

I was going to say worms as well. Has he had any other symptoms of worms? (loss of appetite, coat is in poorer condition, weight loss, diarrhea, vomiting, continual licking of the anal area..) Of course, dogs don't always have to display any or all of these symptoms. It might be worth taking a stool sample into the vet.

no symptomes like that... if Tuffy lost appetite I would run to the vet! He is such a pig... I would be so worried!

  5. Tuffy is acting weird sometimes... here's what he does:

Laying on his bed he sudenly and very quickly get up, like something scared him or pinch him, start walking with his back legs bend, like if he is going to prepared to go poop.. . I usually go and open the door to the backyard and He goes out.. starts running aound and does nothing else..after he is ok... :unsure

I'm thinking that maybe is butt is itchy? (never had problems with anal glands and no sigh that they need to be emptied) His poops is not that firm (He never had firm poop) but it's "ok" (firm enought to pick-up with the pop bag)... or could he have belly cramps?

Or could He have sleepy legs?

just a strange behavior that occurs 2-3 time a week...

  6. We think Tuffy is having arthritis problem and we will start him on SYN-FLEX next week. His stiffness is more and more present and He need stronger supplements...

    any Gters using it?

We used Syn-Flex a couple of years ago with our senior Willa and I think it worked wonders for her. We gave the recommended dose every night in a couple of ounces of strawberry yogurt (her favorite) and she did very well with it.

Syn-Flex also came out with a stronger version, but they do not recommend it for animal use. The original will do just fine.

    thanks for the reply :colgate

  7. Winter is hard on Tuffy paws...

he does weares boots on walk but his paws are crak and seems a little painfull (specially these days when He walks on gravel rocks on side-walks :( )

any special ointment or creme that is the best?

I tried the bag ball thing.. does not seem to work that well... :unsure

  8. I'm so glad to read all of these positive replies!!

I just got my order of FF and JH yesterday.....started the pups last night! Woohoo!! :)

    :thumbs-up Kepp us posted in a few weeks-month :)

cant wait to receive my order.. in 7-10 days... depending of how long the customs will take.. :unsure

Both pups are young (3 and 3.5 yo) and healthy.....but, they both limp after playing too hard. Flower limps after laying around, too, as she had a stress fracture back in mid-July.

I'm hoping this will help them both limp less! I will keep you posted! :goodluck

Well, since they're on sale again (buy 2, get 2) and this thread popped up again, I will give my update! :)

I've been giving both pups FF/JH daily since Dec. 1st and I have noticed that both of them are limping less after zoomies and after laying around! :clap

    :yay:clap

same results here... lest stiffness... (well exept when Tuffy slide on ice 2 weeks ago.. that was not too good.. but it's ok now)

    :colgate

  9. it's been 1 month that I give Tuffy the supplements...

I do see a change this week.. :colgate

He is more alert and playfull (well as much a grey can be :lol )..

And He seems less stiff when He gets up from laying down too long...

I'm happy with this and I'll surely going to buy this products again :colgate

  10. Yup.. Atlas has always been 'spiny'. So much so that we once met a little boy who called him a "dragon dog" because he had "spines" on his back like a Dragon. :rofl

This is the best picture I could find of his.

    That's what you meant, right?

    YES!

glad other greys are like that.. but I founded weird that those bone are showing even if Tuffy is "fat" for a grey.. LOL..
