I'm so sorry for your loss. His story made me smile and cry, which I suppose is what the good ones do. Rest peacefully, sweet Simon.

Wasn't sure whether to put this in Training & Behavior or here. My sweet Rose, who has been with my for two years now, has always been scared of her own shadow. Since Rhem's passed on (six months ago), things have gotten steadily worse. She rarely comes out of my bedroom. If she is in the same room with me, and I reach forward to get the remote, or cough, or change position, she runs upstairs. These days, she won't even stay in the bedroom with me when I sleep. As soon as I go up to bed, she goes downstairs, or if she stays, she leaves as soon as I need to change position in bed. In the last two years, I've tried everything to help her, but nothing works. I am so sad for her! We have a vet appointment this coming Thursday. Does anyone have a dog on meds for this type of thing? I'm thinking she needs a daily medication to ease her fears and help her be more comfortable. Does anyone have any ideas? Thx for any input!

Rose doesn't like walks at all. She is very fearful/anxious in general. I've decided that at age 11, if she doesn't want to go for walks, I'm not going to make her go for walks. I have a large-ish backyard where she can get her ya-yas out if she feels like it.
