My sweet Emily left me three years ago tonight. I'm happy to say that I'm finally starting to remember all the good things instead of that last horrible night. I can finally laugh instead of cry (well, most of the time) when I think of her playing with her monkey, or playing chase with me around the house, or doing a fly-by in the back yard, which was one of her favorite games. She introduced us to the wonderful world of greyhounds, and for that, I'll be forever grateful. Wherever you are Em, Momma loves you.

Her gotcha day was last weekend. She is always on my mind, but more so this time of year. I realized the other day she was only with us one month and 21 days. It seemed like a lifetime; I wish so much that it really could have been. I can almost feel her all around me. I miss her so.

The anniversaries are hard. Everyone says it gets easier with time, and I hope it does, but it's been almost three years since our Em died, and we still grieve for her. Faerae is with you in your hearts, and I believe we'll be see them again someday.
