I voted 'only when they need it'--we bathed them all when we got them, Vix and Marbles May of 02, and Bea in August of 02, and they've all had 2 baths since. They just don't get dirty! It amazes me how even when they do get into stuff on our walks, by the time we get home it's magically disapeared! I do use doggie baby wipes on them, like before meet n greets,tho.

Having lost my Emily to a horrible accident, I can understand what you're going through. It's terrible to EVER lose a beloved friend, but when you feel like it was partly your fault, it seems doubly hard. Not only are you mourning your pet, you're spending a lot of energy being angry with yourself, too. It's been over a year since Em died, and I still play the 'What If' game, as I know you're doing. I wish I had a magic word that could take your pain away, but all I can say is that Iberia was loved, and is loved, and you know in your heart that HE doesn't blame you, and you shouldn't blame you, either. Hang in there.

Had a rough day yesterday... Em's NGA pet certificate came in the mail. We had not sent for it in the short time she was with us, but we had gotten Bea's, Marbles' and Vixen's over the past couple months. I decided to send off for Emily's, and it came yesterday. I still cry from time to time, and every time I let our herd out at night I think of her...you all should see our backyard--it's lit up like daytime with 2 sets of floods, and our slider door is covered with huge smiley face stickers. Our neighbors I'm sure think we've lost it. Anyhow, think a good thought for the Divine Miss Em. We miss her still.

Today would have been Emily's 1st Gotcha Day. Not a day has gone by that we didn't think of her. I still carry such guilt for her death--she was supposed to go to another family, but we fell in love with each other, so she came home with us. All three of mine have irregular heartbeats, as did our B. Kid, Emily. Just wondering how common this is in Greyhounds. My vet says it's a sinus arrhythmia, which means the heartbeat changes with respiration, and that it's benign.

Hey, 'hoo hoo' and 'hangy-downs' are perfectly acceptable medical terminology!! Sort of like: lolfof (little old lady, found on floor) and ctd (circling the drain)
