I participated with Oscar and had loads of fun putting together my gifts. For Dee, I can't really say since I don't know her yet, but I'm sure she appreciates the things most greyhounds do. As for personaly gifts, I do enjoy finding something in there for me. I tend not to get gifts from many people, so I always enjoy a surprise for me. but it's not a must as I"m not disappointed if I don't. I so want to warn all SS in the US who are sending to Canada - the post office has a huge backlog since Canadians have really begun to shop on-line now that our dollar is stronger in Canada than in the US. They are warning of delays in package deliveries because of this increase in mail shopping. Of course, it's not like they're all that timely to begin with!

Oh dear. I just read this. As frightening as it seems, just keep in mind that his body is going through a lot and he has to have time to be tired and quiet. He needs this time to let his body do what we want it to do. At this point, it sounds like he's just really, really pooped. He won't give up as long as you don't; not now. Just talk to him, praise him, give him your strength. Don't let him feel your fear - that's vital. Or else he will be confused - how should he feel? Hang in there - it's tough, it is really tough. But he needs you to be strong now.

Oh no, I'm so sorry.

I lost my 9-year-old golden retriever to cancer (stomach was full of tumours) and my not-even-5-year old greyhound to what was likely a nerve sheath tumour. It hits any breed at any age.

I wasn't planning on doing the SS, since I didn't have a pup anymore. But since Dee is coming in a little more than a week. So, I signed up. Problem is, I had so much fun shopping that I had to go back and sign up for a second package because I bought waaaay too much,and that's before I even know who Dee is shopping for. Once I know, I'll have to get some more personal stuff. I think I got a bit carried away.

As someone already mentioned, pheochromocytoma usually causes hypertension. In people, the BP can go through the roof. The good news is that usually, it's quite treatable. Fingers crossed all is easily treatable and he feels better soon.
