  1. Besides the red growth, does she need a dental? If so and the blood work is good, she should be fine. The oldest I've done a dental on is 15 1/2 It is one of those darned if you do and darned if you don't. Bad teeth can cause kidney and heart problems!
  2. Am I not reading right or did they not do the equilibrium dialysis? What did Dr. Dodds say?
  3. They can show up with nothing in the urine, but when cultured there is something. Marilyn had a girl that showed nothing but she had e coli! This could be why so many times greys have been put on antibiotics and the urinating excessively stops.
  4. Try a couple of bendryl first. If you do have to use Ace, use 1/4 to 1/3 of what the vet doses to start with.
  5. Brings back memories of Rob Roy & Austin. I didn't see it, but I am sure Rob stepped on Austin and Austin came up at him and Rob went down on the coffee table. Coffee table went bye bye after that. I hated that a good fang had to be lost! Sending prayers!
  6. I won't feed it to my guys. I doubt a little will hurt. Interesting informatioin: Aspartame My DD is allergic to one of the sweetners. I wish they would just bring saccarin back.
  7. You can email Ohio State. It is my understanding that TSH in dogs is not very reliable and I've seen comments like "disappointing" as to it's reliability. Looks like she's a bit dificient

    Starlight Nena

    Sending my sympathy
  9. Mention it to the vet. I'd try water therapy on it and see if it clears up
  10. email me at Burpdog@msn.com and I'll send you all the kidney written documentation. Raw affects some of the values. Also, did he have a UTI? Was the urine cultured? If not, it should be.
  11. I don't think it's extreme. It's why they quarantine tracks (which several have been under quartine for over a month).
  12. Well, his BUN and creatine is pretty normal. How high was his amalyse?

    Sheba

Sending my sympathy to all who love her
  14. Sending prayers. Since he is a patient there (Ohio State), I'd call and see if you can get through to someone.
  15. How hot is hot? Greys cannot take the heat.
  16. Sounds like maybe muscle cramps. Have you tried massaging? Did you do a follow up urinalysis?
  17. Just for future information: many vets do not test for all the TBDs. Usually, the only erlichia tested for is canis and there has been a dramatic increase in other erlichias. I recently found out that when you request a TBD panel and your vet uses Antech or Idexx, they only include erlichia and RMSF--not even babesia. If you request babesia, the Antech sends it to Protatek, so why not use them in the first place (or North Carolina State). Also, several dogs have had full panels here in Texas which have been clean yet the dogs responded to doxy treatment. She was much too young to go yet I know it hurts.
  18. I know acupuncture and fluids help. Marilyn's Sport has been going for 2 years. She gives him fluids sub q (something you can do) every day. He is also on chinese herbs. I'll look for a vet for you and email you. Did you do a full TBD panel on her? (not just erlichia canis)
  19. Although that is an elevated temp, it's not extremely high. Sounds like she may have had a TBD which in the end stages can be hard on the organs, or she may have had cancer somewhere. Sending my sympathy. It is very hard to lose them when you know what is wrong, much less when you do not
  20. Do not skimp on the stomach meds Pepcid is one of the most mild ones you can give. Contact Ohio State and see if she qualifies for free chemo drugs.
  21. Have the vet examine her, do a thyroid panel and then you will know rather than guess
  22. It's up to you to undepress him--I know that is easier said than done He can feel you. When he is having a problem, just use a happy voice and tell him he CAN do it and you think he is handsome and you love him--in other words, talk to him
