  3. I had to do a Heimlich on Rob Roy. I did it with him standing. After about the fourth thrust, a piece of kibble shot out. Very scarey. Since that time, I never, ever, leave them with food.
  4. Sorry to hear about your FIL and the terrible experience with Bonnie. Sending prayers she does well now that she is home, and for your entire family for peace and comfort during this time
  5. She is back to "normal" limp and feeling better Eating like a piggy
  6. Heart had a vasculitis incident about a year after the bruising at the ballfield. We treated with mega pred and it went away. At some point after, she was treated with doxy "just because" and she never had another incident.
  7. Make sure you have them culture the urine, especially if this is new behavior. Also, any changes in diet? Kibble?
  8. I took Heart once to a ballfield to run and saw her pull up. She really bruised and swelled. It's been a long time ago, but I think we did pred. Sending prayers.
  9. Sending prayers. What about vestibular? Symptoms sound like what Tootsie when through. Sort of walk drunk and possibly towards one way or the other. If it is, it resolves fairly quick. We used a drug that helped a lot. Off to find the thread where I hope I listed the name. I wish I could remember all of Dr. Couto's talk Saturday but I do remember him saying something like "dogs don't get strokes" at least not like in humans. I will try & contact him and see if I can clarify what he was saying. Vestibular Disease
  10. She is limping still. Eating well. I found out when I returned yesterday that she received only half her pain meds while I was gone. To say I am sick about it is an understatement Hopefully a few days on the right mix again and she'll be as good as when I left.
  11. WBC doesn't sound too low for a grey. Platelets: if I remember right, vets get very concerned under 50,000. Since she is bruising at 60,000, I'd keep a close eye on her. What are you doing to up the platelets? Sending prayers. This little girl has been thru so much!
  12. a lot of people will tell you yes. I won't use it. It has the highest rate of reactions among heartworm preventative. Some vets will not use it.

    Cullen's Gone

    Sending my sympathy
  14. I had a Great Dane that would get the squirts every dog show. Not fun in the back of a station wagon Many Greys get loose stools or shed like crazy when stressed. Does he appear to like the M&G? Whether to withhold food--it depends on the dog and why they have the trots for my guys.
  15. Clindimyacin at WalMart was around $40 for 40 150mg pills which is a 10 day course of treatment.
  16. The longer I go combining western and eastern medicine, the more convinced I am this is the way to go I'm glad to hear there is a good alternative vet in Louisvillle!
