  1. She should do fine. Stop the aspirin unless you ask them. I don't think you are suppose to have it with surgery in the near future. That estimate sounds really cheap if the back molars are coming out! I assume they know greyhounds well? Sending prayers.
  2. I've been thinking about him too.....
  3. I hate rose bushes. After a friend's grey lost part of his tail, I ripped out the one and only rose bush in my back yard Have you tried vet wrap? Does your regular vet do ear crops? If so, he'll know how to bandage it properly to her head. Sending prayers!
  4. Try MSM 1000mg a day. Easy to get and not expensive. Or you can try Joint Health from Springtime. It has MSM, glucosamine, chondroitin + a few other minor things. I've done the Fresh Factors and buy MSM at Whole Foods along with fish oil caps. That is ridiculous. What does it include? I've not used a NSAID since Eliza. If you do, regardless of which one, do blood work to start, check in two weeks, then six weeks. Make sure you check kidney function as well as platelets and liver function.
  5. Sending lots of prayers! A specialist is a must. If she does have to lose the leg, she will be fine. Many have lost a leg not only to cancer, but to accidents.
  6. He's definetely old enough If I have one that has a problem I load them up for a week or two then back off. For a 70# dog, I'd use 4 Joint Health and 6-8 Fresh Factors a day for that 2 weeks. Maintenance dose varies.
  7. Absolutely no doubt. I've been using them for a little over 10 years I started when I heard about Springtime from my sister's friend who used the supplements in her horses and dogs.
  8. The boy's a fighter for sure! Give him some soft hugs from me
  9. Fresh Factors is the best, or Joint Health with added Fresh Factors. Fish Oil caps also. Springtime Inc. Right now they have a super special going on How old is Mikee?
  10. Ouch is right! Sending prayers for quick healing.
  11. Creatine is fine as long as his BUN is within normal range, especially since he needs a dental. I've had them up to 2.3 with no problems. Rest of his blood work looks fine
  12. Sending my sympathy to all who love her
  13. I would not put a sick animal on a liver cleansing diet unless under a vet's care and they suggested it. Use the milk thistle to help his liver though
  14. from the site: http://www.canine-epilepsy.com/MilkThistle.html
  15. Remember Magic's chickens? Many times I've said, they eat what they need. If he needs chickens, buy chickens! Baked or roasted chicken will probably be easy on his stomach. I've bought turkey, either whole or breast, and baked in the crock pot. Dogs love it. On the carafate, if you can pill just before you leave for work and as soon as you come home (assuming there are no other meds), pill him before you go to bed. It doesn't have to be every 8 hours exactly. I've also used 2 grams at times when the stomach is very bad.
  16. April 16, 2008 Winslow went swimming today. It was the first swim since November when they turned the heat on in the pool. He loved it! After a big greeting with his favorite people, Roger and Mr. Bush, he went right to the pool and right in! He didn't forget how to swim. We were so proud of him! After 5 laps, he said it was enough. He watched the horses swimming for a minute and then straight for the shower. He slept all the way home, but was really excited when we got here, telling Craig the whole story. After a quick lunch and a few squeaks on the pheasant, he was sound asleep. I bet I have to wake him up for dinner. Winslow is really happy to be back in the water. I would have taken photos, but nothing has changed and it all looks like the first time. Glynis

has her wings..... 7/22/96 ~ 4/17/08 3 months shy of her 12th birthday--way too young Perfect blood work -- lousy osteosarcoma She can run like the wind once again...I am really going to miss her! She was well taken care of and loved by her owner before going into adoption. I wish she had more than 2 years with me, but at least she had two years and a good life before adoption.
  18. Rather than the turkey necks (although I do believe that is what started the infection), I wonder if it's the milk bone biscuits which are harder than the necks that loosened that tooth. She just had a dental the end of February and everything was ok.... She is eating soaked kibble and I only found one spot of blood on the carpet. She is sleeping a lot which is fine
  19. She just had two teeth pulled....hopefully this will fix the problem and she won't be getting any more turkey necks..... Please send prayers and good thoughts for a quick recovery!
  20. It's not going too well Prayers and good thoughts appreciated.
  21. Since she has been off so long, I'd get her to the vet asap. Sounds like a bad tooth (teeth). Sending prayers.
  22. If he has a UTI he will try to poop if he can't get urine out (sounds bizarre I know but Burp did it). Sounds like he needs an antibiotic and perhaps some carafate. Sending prayers!
