  1. ...what a sweetie, and heartthrob! You are an angel ! And so is Percy..I just want to cry tears of joy
  2. ...very happy to have a sign. I guess it happens when it's least expected? And that makes it stand out as a sign? I couldn't believe my eyes, because it looked so much like her, although bigger. I embraced the moment, and my heart swelled. I think Clover whispered in that kitty's ear " Hush now, don't say anything, just get her attention, and walk away quietly". I haven't seen the other kitty since...
  3. Here it goes. I lost a beautiful and wonderful kitty to cancer. quite a few years ago. The reason I bring this up...is because there have been some posters writing about signs. Well....I would have never thought my Miss Clover would give me a sign. She was so strong and loving and quiet. She was also very sociable, yes a very sociable kitty. Last Sunday, I was walking Little Man, and something caught our attention! It was a black and white tuxedo kitty sitting across the street watching us. I said to myself "That looks like Clover" I watched as the kitty continued to watch "us". Remarkably, Little Man stayed still. Many things crossed my mind as the tuxedo kitty walked away. For reference, I haven't seen the kitty since then, and it wasn't feral or stray. It had a red collar on.I miss her so much,,,,and if it hadn't been for her passing, I wouldn't have this wonderful little guy in my life.Let me explain....Clover loved to hunt on the patio. She loved to torment and play with the lizards who dared to cross her path. When I was presented with a little puppy...I said "No", politely. "Clover will look at him as a toy". I knew she would never hurt him...but feared she would play with him ....ummm...just a little too much. I couldn't introduce a puppy ( 4 weeks old ) into my home. Not much long later, Clover was diagnosed with cancer. I took care of her, and loved her and watched her closely. When it was time, I had to make a decision, It still breaks my heart today. I guess what I am saying is that it was my first sign from my beloved Clover. She observed us...and had the strength to give us a sign and walk away. It was remarkable, Lisa and Little Man
  4. Yes, it is still good. Most expiration dates are based on the manufacturers unopened bottle for their own (manufacturers) protection. And to qualm your fears, something like melatonin won't degrade into something harmful. As time goes by, most OTC drugs just lose potency over time. Does that help?
  5. Eyes! Such a beautiful girl!!! Green-Gray-Hazel..
  6. Just touching base....how is miss Ginny doing?
  7. Love! Love! Love! Not that you want an unsolicited opinion..... but I would name him Goliath....if I were so lucky! I hope it all works out...
  8. Lord God Almighty! You are hilarious FloridaGirl!! I think I understand now! Love your siggy!!
  9. " I was plodding down a hill like sasquatch " I am enjoying your adventures! But...but...but .... how does one plod DOWN a hill like a sasquatch? I've heard they only plod uphill, or through the straight-away....surely you jest!!! Maybe Claymoore can shed some light on this....LOL! (BTW, eventhough I don't have a grey yet, I have a small mix who resembles an IG, who zig zags at times, and it is very frustrating. I keep a short leash on walks, and pull up, then back to my side, to get him back on pace. He wears a harness, so that may not apply to a grey, ummm due to size differnce).
  10. Awww...run free sweet one...run free
  11. Hello All.. I just sent in my application! YAY! I was contacted by adoption rep regarding the next steps. Next step, go to a Meet and Greet. No problem, since there are plenty in my area. Here's the problem. The rep told me to bring my little dog too. In my mind, I wasn't going to do that, when meeting a Greyhound for the first time. Little Man is so leash reactive, and I've been working on it, to the best of my ability, and his. I put him in the cart at Petsmart, (while shopping) where he isn't reactive. Well, we went for a walk tonight....and...I am in tears. I just don't know what to do. I fear that he will bark, snark, at a Meet and Greet. Is that the best advice, to bring him? Please help Thank you Lisa
  12. Hello from Southern California. Just a question to consider: How is the blood pressure? I only ask, because I've had a kitty with similar symptoms. I know it may seem like comparing apples to oranges, but the dilated pupils brought back a very significant thought to me. She ( Clover the kitty) had been acting weird for about a week ( kitty language...missing points on chairs, scared to come into a lighted room). One day, she sat upstairs, and was crying. I went to get her, and she was in the hallway, facing the wall crying. I promptly took her to the vet, where they diagnosed very high blood pressure, which can in turn cause problems with sight, hence, unusual behavior. Just a thought...I certainly don't want to cause you any undue stress. Again, kitties may have a different physiology...
  13. Everything is so pretty! I love the charm bracelet with the starfish in the purple and pink!
  14. One knee only. Back right. We are now doing hills! Thanks ETA: he is not overweight
  15. Thank you for answering scullysmom. No, I have never seen it locked up, and haven't seen any limping. My vet found it on physical exam. Sigh. Grade 1 apparently, is that the knee cap moves on physical manipulation, but then goes back to normal. I haven't observed any locking or limping. Thank you for your consideration into my question. And thank you for the additional information, which I did not consider...ie: arthritis setting in, and preventative treatment. I will ask my vet about Cosequin for Stage 1. Thank you
  16. Hi Everyone! Questions for all of you greyhound lovers/owners. Are greyhounds susceptible to a luxating patella? I'm just curious. I took my little guy for updates on vaccines and annual exam, and he is very healthy and happy, except the vet found that he has stage one luxating patella. He is 4 this week! They gave me a name of a website for more info, and it listed Greyhounds as susceptible too. I'm thinking they meant Italian Greyhound, since this is something common in small dogs. Does anyone here have experience with this? If so,do all the cases eventually progress? I'm thinking about starting him on Cosequin, which I didn't think to ask while I was there. If this should be in OT, please feel free to move. Just wasn't sure Thanks!
  17. This is all such good advice...and brings me closer to taking the plunge too!
  18. Oops, I read this again. Not one liter bottles. Try one or two, two liter bottles. Sorry. And since, I've never tried it, I don't know how long they will last.
  19. Since you haven't replied, I am guessing the problem has been solved. I've heard about home made swamp coolers. (Yes, this is new to me, but it makes sense.) Fill one or two, one liter bottles with water, then freeze them. Put frozen bottles in front of a fan. Pick fan speed, and rotation at your discretion, and put it in the shadiest, coolest part of your home. I have never tried this, but I think it makes sense. I hope you found a solution.
  20. As I'm doing research, this is a new one on me. Why add moisture to the kibble? Just wondering...
  21. This is cool. Then, how do you get them down the stairs?
