  1. Sending prayers for Cosmo and her worried humans.
  2. Janet, I'm curious to know how your vet diagnosed the bacterial infection. Was there some sort of blood test or smear she could do? Bless Jake's heart and yours too. It is so worrisome to see clearly that something is going on but not to be able to figure out what it is. --Lucy
  3. I hope that adorable girl is going ot feel better very soon.

    Puppy Oliver

Oh I am so very sorry. Run free Ollie. --Lucy
  6. What delightful and heartening news to read that Cosmo is handling the amputation like a champ and has even found the silver lining in the cloud, so to speak. Thank goodness for Marcia and Dr. Matz! Sending all the best to you and Cosmo for the chemo. --Lucy

    Cosmo Kitty

Cara-Lea, I'm so sorry for your loss. Cosmo clearly had a gift for giving his humans just what they needed. It is always hard to say goodbye and even harder when you are expecting to be able to share more many more years with your beloved companion.
  8. Oh Amber, the uncertainty about what going on is so unnerving! Prayers and good thoughts for you and Soul. I did once have the experience of taking Piper to our regular vet because he seemed uncomfortable. The only thing they found upon x-ray and exam was lots and lots of air in his intestines. The vet and I had a good laugh about Piper's "gas emergency". How I hope that this episode with Soul will end just as innocuously. --Lucy
  9. Sue, I'm so sorry Bessie, your special girl, had to leave you. --Lucy
  10. Continued good thoughts and prayers for Bessie and for you. Please get well, sweetheart! --Lucy
  11. Oh no! What a frightening turn of events for you and Bessie. Prayers coming that your girl is going to be just fine. --Lucy
  12. No experience or suggestions here, but good thoughts for William...feel better soon, handsome boy. --Lucy
  13. That sweet girl deserves a whole boat load of good fortune and good news and I hope it continues to come her way (and yours). --Lucy
  14. I'm so glad that Penny is holding her own right now and that there is more than a little reason to be optimistic for her future! Please recognize that this situation is NOT your fault. Side effects from meds and unexpected new issues like hookworms happen, even in the most carefully regulated home . You didn't cause those things and just as soon as you knew Penny was in trouble you got her the help she needed. Now, you and your vet and Penny will deal with these new issues. No matter how much we love our pups, no matter how carefully we work to protect them from everything--we are not and never will be in 100% control of everything that happens to them or to us. Beating ourselves up about that fact is a waste of time and energy that can be spent on much better things. Prayers and best wishes for you and Penny
  15. Warm good thoughts and prayers for you and Penny.

    Bye Bye Birdie

Buzzy, I'm so sorry that your little sweetheart had to leave you. What a beautiful bird and what an appealing personality you described. --Lucy
  17. I'm so very sorry for your loss. They leave such a void in our hearts and lives when they go. --Lucy
  18. To me, your approach makes terrific sense. Your instinct that the seizures may be secondary to something else, perhaps TBD or infection/inflammation sounds spot on. One thing my vet mentioned on the issue of doing an MRI to check for brain tumor was that, if a tumor was present, we'd know soon enough because of increasing neurological symptoms--grim but true. Seizure have an almost endless array of possible causes and when they are secondary to something else, treating that something else is the ticket. Sending prayers and best wishes for Penny. --Lucy

    Julio

I'm so very sorry. Julio's pictures and your stories about him always brought a smile to my face. What a wonderful and special boy. --Lucy
  20. Oh no! I am so very sorry the wonderful Crackerjack couldn't stay with you longer. What a blessing that you were able to love and care for him and make his last years a joy. It is particularly touching that he was reunited with his wee friend just in time for them to have a nice loving time together before time to say goodby--best buds. --Lucy
  21. "Unremarkable" sounds like really good news after a big surgery! Prayers for you and Cosmo continue as well as quiet cheering so as not to wake the patient. --Lucy
