  1. Thanks. We have several smaller grocery stores not far. I'll check.
  2. Thanks. Do any of you think it works as an appetite stitmulant? I bought one can and they cleaned their dish -- that's one-third can each with kibble and chicken. But with three dogs and two cans a day plus everything else they get (kibble, chicken, etc,) $2.69 per can makes for an expensive meal. I'll check the websites. Thanks.
  3. I've heard green tripe is an appetite stimulate. I have 3 seniors who have decided they don't like their food anymore even though I add diced chicken breasts and everything else I can think of to their meal. I would like to try the tripe mixed in with their kibble. Does anyone online use tripe and does anyone know the best and most economical on-line store to purchase it? I'm running out of options. These dogs are driving me ....
  4. It's time for emergency vet. I really wouldn't wait.
  5. Skorch would go into cardiac arrest if he only ate once a day. He supervises his breakfast around 7:30 and his dinner ar 5:30. He stands next to me while preparing it and prances around til I get his bowl in his high feeder. The girls are ready to eat but not as excited as Skorch. Once a day wouldn't work for us.
  6. Just curious if you took Jess to the vet and what the vet said.....Hoping Jess is better.
  7. My June Bug just turned 10. About three months ago, I discovered that her bed was wet and she was soaked. It was the weekend and it happened again. Monday I took a urine sample to the vet. It came back fine. The vet put her on meds -- 2 times a day. He said that after we got it under control we would "play" with the dose. June is now on one pill every three days, and she is fine. See what your vet has to say. It can be controlled.
  8. What a striking girl. Your two look good together. Congratulations.
  9. I am so sorry. Sending prayers and positive thoughts to the Bean.
  10. I am so sorry for your loss.
  11. My bridge boy, Barko, had the surgery about 12 years ago at the UW Wisconsin Vet School. At the time, the cost was about $1,200 and worth every penny. I hope you can get this handled quickly.
  12. Looks like she's settling in nicely -- and so are you. I love to see happy, contented hounds. Enjoy your new girl. She's beautiful.
  13. Is Cammie arriving this weekend? It's really hard to wait, isn't it.
  14. Okay...you've had her for a few hours. Has she transitioned yet?
  15. I lurk on the Greyhounds Only website regularly and saw your new baby's picture and bio. She is a beautiful girl. I'm sure you will enjoy her. Congratulations.
  16. My second grey, Barko, suffered from a partially paralyzed layrnex. It was a long time ago and Barko has long since gone to the bridge, so unfortunally I don't remember the particulars, but we did opt for surgery. Barko was probably 9 (we adopted him when he was 8). His surgery was done at the University of Wisconsin. We were very pleased with the outcome. Barko recovered quickly and was a different dog afterward.....much more loving and sociable. Barko died from cancer at almost 13 -- nothing to do with the layrnex. I wish you the best with Roo. Decisions are sometimes hard to make. Hugs to both of you.
  17. My heart breaks for you, Bruce and Nub. Your tribute is beautiful. I am so sorry.
  18. Kim, I have no advice, but want you and Bruce to know I am thinking about you and Rainey. I don't know of anyone who is as dedicated to their hounds than you guys. I hope you can get it figured out; 8 months is a really long time.
  19. I am sorry to hear about Kathleen. She was wonderful with her talented dogs. I saw them perform two times. They always did toenail trims and Kathleen spoke at a seminar. You will be missed by the greyhound community.
  20. I don't know about medication or diets, but along with that I would use something topical to take the burn away. If you ever had a bladder infection, you know how awful it feels -- possibly Desitin or something that you would use on a baby. You could use a diaper that you change regularly to keep her from licking and to keep your floor and sofa clean. Just a thought. Don't laugh at me, but I did use Vagisil on my first grey who lost control of her back legs and couldn't get up off of her bed. Worked like a charm.
  21. Hoping for continued improvement. He sure is handsome and oh so photogenic.
