Myka starts out on her dog bed in the bedroom but ends up usually (unless it's really cold) across the foot of my bed, part of her touching me and part of her touching DBF.

I totally empathize, I had to give up my first grey Raven for the same reason. I was freaking heartbroken but thank goodness my group worked to get another wonderful dog in to my house and my heart right away.

Welcome! Yes, the rules are we need pictures My fawn girl was terrified of the stairs. So I stood next to her, with her rear against my legs and moved each foot up one step, very slowly and praised her the whole way. I had a hand on her chest on the way down (so she wouldn't jump) and did it again 1 paw at a time. It took almost 2 weeks for her to master the stairs, but she did. And I'm ridiculously proud of her. Patience and lots of it will be your best friend for the next few weeks while you new love settles in
