  1. GREAT! I'm so, so glad to hear this news Yay for pup and parents!!
  2. Glad she's stabilized, and I'm glad you get to have some peace of mind. No money tree here, either... I planted some pennies when I was little, but I guess I didn't water them enough
  3. Aston tolerates a lot (I found, when I was new to dog body language ), but he does NOT tolerate dominant humping or anything to that extent. I can't blame him; I just don't let him get into situations where that occurs, or if he is in close quarters with a strange dog, I warn the owner that Aston doesn't tolerate rude behavior on the part of other dogs and WILL express himself thusly. As for the lurcher's owner saying that the DOG should know better... it would be funny if it weren't so infuriating.

    Guinness Is Gone

:heart Thinking of you and sweet Guinness.
  5. I HIGHLY recommend a Weed Hound (appropriately named!): Link It is really, really addictive once you get going. It's the only way I get big clumps of crabgrass out of the ground without making myself nuts. I've been loaning mine out to coworkers, both of whom brought the thing back saying they had to rip it out of their SOs' hands so that other chores around the house could get done Looks like they discontinued the particular model I love -- haven't tried the new (yellow) version. For what it's worth, I like the regular green Weed Hound more than the green Weed Hound Elite that they've been selling more recently.
  6. I started to cry when I saw her name listed in this forum. I didn't get to meet Heart, but I could always see such sweetness and beauty flowing from her photos. I am so, so sorry.
  7. Maybe the boys came from a place that carried a scent that had a negative connection in Wally's mind? Poor guy. I love hearing about your hounds. They sound fabulous (aside from Aston, of course! :wink)
  8. Unfortunately, I don't have advice but we are here for you. Please keep us posted whenever possible. Holding you and sweet Minny in the light..
  9. I second putting quotes around "friend." Friends don't openly judge on things like this, even if they don't understand. Your decision to move your bed downstairs is a testament to the commitment you've made to sweet Mable. She is one very, lucky, girl.
  10. I am so, so sorry. Hope sounds like she had a PERFECT, fitting name. My thoughts are with you, and she is with good company at the Bridge :heart
  11. I don't believe there was a food correlation for when we found Aston chowing on dirt in the backyard (first discovered when he POOPED dirt on a walk, to our surprise). I think it's a boredom thing for him, though once he found a "good" spot, he would beeline it out there when he let him out back so that he could gulp as much as possible before we caught him. He stopped on his own a few weeks later...

    Turbo

My heart jumped into my throat when I saw his name in this forum. I didn't know him, but Turbo had the COOLEST name and racing name, and he just struck me as a most amazing guy. His photos speak more than anything. I am so, so sorry for your loss. I hope we will all be so lucky to be greeted by that vision you posted once we reach the Bridge.
  13. What a sweet, beautiful girl. I am so sorry for your loss...
  14. What a dashing, beautiful hound. I am so sorry for your loss
  15. :heart I'm sure Rainey was the first in line with a Sharkie to greet the most recent Bridge newcomers. She was such a lucky girl, to be so loved Thinking of you.
  16. I am so, so sorry. I saw your request for a new signature, but had no idea that this was why. Godspeed, sweetheart. Her loss is truly senseless. I am so sorry.
  17. After trying a bunch of different higher-end brands, and using Kirkland Lamb & Rice and Nature's Domain from Costco, I finally broke down and bought Pedigree from Costco yesterday (after pulling my cart over to check GreyTalk and make sure that I'm not a horrible person for buying the big yellow bag, ). Aston seems to do okay on foods for awhile, but then starts to get squish-poops no matter what. We have had him on ProZyme all along as well (it is BAD NEWS in terms of gas if we don't). On top of this, I would really like him to gain a few pounds, but if we try feeding more than usual of any of the above foods, it goes right through the poor guy in terms of poop volume and squish. AND, the higher-end foods seem to be more concentrated, so we feed a lot less to keep his weight up in general, but Aston is left wanting (noticed this on INNOVA especially). I've tried bulking up his food with green beans, etc., but with the other factors, I figured it was time to just buy a cheaper, bulkier food and see how it goes. His poop today was squishy as usual, but we also don't have the feeding quantity worked out yet (we're going about half Nature's Domain, half Pedigree -- probably as an ongoing thing, unless the Pedigree itself seems to be working better on its own).
  18. Sending hugs for you and your pups. LOTS of good thoughts flying your way. I hope your babies are feeling better soon! I'll be watching for updates for Jabari and Legs.
