  1. I wonder if it would be a good idea to get a second opinion from OSU. You're both in my thoughts:grouphug
  2. She must've been so special

I'm so sorry, and I understand
  4. I will never forget what the vet said when we sent Phoenix to the bridge, also due to osteo. She said that greyhounds are so stoic that we could be absolutely sure that they are in much more pain than they let on.
  5. Sadly I do not - the vet isn't open during hours that I am in the area of my home (I work about 60 miles/2 hours away), so my girlfriend has been taking him. I'm just nervous because of the conflicting information, and since he's new to the house I can't really confirm if he is showing symptoms, or if its just his personality. Trying to get in touch with her during the work day is tough because of the nature of our jobs. I'll see what I can find out this evening. When Phoenix had further testing for tick disease they actually saw the little critters swimming in their sample. I think that is pretty rare, but some meds, such as Imizol (used to treat babesia) shouldn't be taken lightly, not that you are taking it lightly .
  6. Do you know what kind of tick borne disease they will be treating for? Not all of them respond to the same treatment. Having treated a dog for babesia, I would probably recommend going for the extra tick test. Also, does your vet know that greyhound norms are different than for other dogs? Here is a great booklet that talks about weird greyhound health stuff.
  7. I'm so very sorry. I'm glad you found each other

Oh, Hilda! I'm so very sorry
  9. Treasure looked like that after a fall. It was very scary and we ended up at the even. It went away pretty quickly.

    I'm so sorry Joanne
  11. His symptoms sound like Phene's just before he was diagnosed with babesia, especially the difficulty getting up.
  12. Yes, it does. I used one for Loca towards the end of her life. The e-vet was so impressed with the harness and said that it was anatomically perfect for greyhounds. Having said that, the helpmeup harness looks great.
  13. What a beautiful kitty he was
  14. What an amazingly happy life Riddick had with you. It's so apparent how much he and his family, both two and four legged, loved each other. I miss him already.
