  1. Realistically he probably forgot about it within 10 minutes.... but doing what you did sure enforced the "Mom is the boss" concept so it sure didn't hurt! I do the same thing. Don't piss the Momma off!
  2. I think it would feel good to sore muscles after an especially hard run. Maybe not for everyday use, but after greyhound runs like the one I hope your going to in May. If you are who I think you are.... I've heard that your pupper is in the running for the most pampered pouch. A job well done! I'm also not going to admit to using horse lineament on myself....
  3. Just make sure you get the organic human grade stuff. I add it to the girls food every few months. And dose for 3 weeks straight. Worms really freak me out so it can't hurt :-) does not work on heartworm so keep doing the monthly dose of that.
  4. ((((HUGS)))) is she in any pain? or are the meds working for that?
  5. You sound like me who always jumps to the worst case scenario! In that case lots of dogs do perfectly well w/o any sight. The important part is keeping her comfy since I'm sure she feels icy now with hurting eyes. I hope your vet knows an eye specialist that has an earlier app. Keep hanging in there! The steroids should be fine since they did stain her eyes to look for scratches
  6. They are just bad of there is a scratch present on the eye. Honestly can't remember why but it was drilled into my head when I was working at a stable and medicating horses and dealing with typical first aid there. Basically if u think there might be a scratch don't use ointment with steroids in it. Not sure if eye drops could have steroids we only delt with ointment.
  7. Yes def calm down and follow up with your reg vet. Hopefully its nothing. As long as she can rest comfortably than you should be fine tonight. (((((Hugs)))))))
  8. iI was told max dose is 1000mg per 10 lbs. It's also a natural anti inflammatory so it might help there too. Start out slow since it will cause D
  9. Could be a scratch or something irritating it. If there is a scratch just make sure the drops or ointment has NO steroids in it. But I bet your vet knows that. Let us know how she is.
  10. I put both girls on it as soon as we got them. Sunshine was the youngest at 2. I figure it couldn't hurt since they are large breed dogs.
  11. Rainy will get this occasionally and I've never really worried. I just increase her bone portion for s few days to help her firm up. If your really concerned a round of former won't hurt, but I don't think the mucous is a symptom of worms. We did get mote freq mucous during the first year of raw feeding too.
  12. Mine are! If they want to.... LOL Or if I have food for Sunshine.... they are never going to be off leash dogs, but that's ok since they are perfect just the way they are. well... we're still working on Sunshine!
  13. Maybe Stephanie? Your corgi's lucky! The only time I've really seen Rainy get after other dogs was when they tried to mount her. She made some lab puppy's life flash before his eyes at the dog park, twice! (he was a slow learner) Then later scared the life out of my parent's Shepard puppy. Girl knows how to deal with those fresh boys!
  14. Wait is this the same dog that was having issues before with food in the street? If so have you talked to your adoption group? Perhaps they can recommend a trainer or even help out with some hands on training themselves? Also possibly have his T4 checked as a 'just in case' since that would be such an easy fix. Meanwhile if your nervous, for the immediate future please just use the muzzle! It won't hurt him, and it will help give the humans confidence. Rainy used to wear hers all day while we were at work and it never hurt her one bit.
  15. I only was able to get her to eat 1 cookie, which she threw up... now she wont touch them! Lol the 'hard drugs' seem to work the best lol
  16. When we first get to a motel, Jacey insists on sleeping across the doorway, with her back against the door. She wants to be absolutely certain I can't get out of the room without her knowing about it. When I actually do go out, she's fine. She just doesn't want to wake up and discover mom sneaked away... That's so cute.... and sad! We never left Rainy alone for a second last year since we only had her. I made a promise to her when we first got her and had some SA issues that I would never put her in a position for her to be nervous or scared. We even staggered the breakfast bar at the hotel. Lol now that we have 2 pups maybe we can go out for a quick bite to eat by ourselves.... yes I am aware I am crazy overprotective! In fact Rainy was so secure instantly that she was flabberghasted when the hotel staff came in the first night to fix our tv. Lol her eyes just about popped outta her head. She had just walked in saw all of our stuff plus hers and settled in on the second bed. It never occurred to her that other people could come in our room...
  17. Ahh... I didn't know it had another name! but then how did they know it only came in a 3mg pill? It was just a very bizarre conversation.... Just placed an order through Omaha Vet, so we are covered for another few months or so.
  18. Well I just got off the phone and the person said they only carried it in 3mg, then when I asked for the price per pill she suddenly did not know this drug? Oh well swing and a miss there! On to Omaha Vaccine....
  19. They actually don't get breakfast but I'm sure they will get some morning munchies since we will be on vacation. I always try to keep something in the belly for meds. Although we are all champion early morning nappers! This will be her first hotel stay and I hope she settles down as well as Rainy does.
  20. Both our girls have always been very chatty. Rainy even said that it was ok the vet messed up her spoon splint since it ment she got to 'talk' and she never gets to talk since she's the well behaved one LOL I was a total nonbeliever until we had instant unexplained behavior changes with Rainy 's SA. Also helped instantly when Sunshine refused to be petty trained by using traditional methods (schedule and potty treat parties)
  21. Ah... I didn't even think about what human doses were. Looks like we will stick to the Omaha vaccine place. They seem to be the cheapest for a bulk order. Thanks so much !
  22. Well that makes me feel a bit better! We sort of like the sedative side of the stuff for Sunshine! Lol she's a scared one... so if I just give her one every morning her belly should feel fine. I'm just a worry part when it comes to keeping the girls happy. Getting even more excited for gig!
  23. it's time for us to reorder and I was wondering if anyone has checked out Costco's prices? Or if they even have it... we need .6 mg
  24. So we are heading to GIG in a couple weeks and Sunshine gets car sick. Plus once we are there we will be driving around going to place to place. I don't want to dose her every time we get into the car! How long does a dose (I think they are 25mg, we just use 1 pill) last? What's the max dose per day? She's 57lbs and I forgot to ask the vet last time we were there.
