  1. Sending good wishes for Lilly!!! Glad she was a great ambassa-dog, also.
  2. So sorry, Pam. You were so close.
  3. I'll admit, I'm excessively paranoid about bloat. I try to keep them as quiet as possible after they eat. It's just something I'm afraid that if I let my guard down- something bad will happen. I did have to load Cookie into the car right after a meal a couple times so we could go to a meet n greet and I was worried about it the whole day but I'm doing better with relaxing things a little. I hated walking them after their evening meal but I think I got used to the routine and stopped worrying so much. Cookie's foster mom told me a story about someone's golden who got bloat and died very suddenly, and it has stayed etched in my mind, I'll admit.
  4. Welcome and have fun with your new greyhound!!
  5. Something else also. I received this in an email Aug. 23 so hopefully everyone who uses it has been notified. Iverhart recall
  6. I'm flabbergasted a boarding kennel wouldn't get your dog proper vet care. That's kinda scary.
  7. So sorry about Ms. Millie.
  8. to gt!! I hope you find playmates! I'm probably way to far away- I'm located in Bradford County, Pa.
  9. We tried to let Cookie on the furniture, and it didn't work out, either.
  10. As far as fan placement, I have an idea that I use. I don't use A/C, myself, just fans. Can't do A/C! I have a round fan, and it can move from being upright to pointing to the ceiling. I actually point it to the ceiling and the air seems to circulate pretty well. We've never had A/C in any our homes. My bf did say that running fans generates more electrical usage than A/C, so it's entirely possible it's more economical to use the A/C. This may be something to look into before making a decision.
  11. I got a 3 year for my dachshund last year. I guess the rule of thumb, at least with my vet, is that they have to have 1 year rabies previously to get the 3 year. This year I'm hoping they're able to give Cookie a 3 year b/c she does have a record of her previous rabies shot from when she waiting on the farm last year.
