  1. Checking in on Kylie this morning. I am so very sorry for what you're going through, and I'm holding her in my thoughts.
  2. Not all houndies can handle Evo -- mine couldn't, although it wasn't as dramatic as projectile poop, just never solid. After the vet check I'd put him back on something more akin to what he was eating before.
  3. Welcome from Iowa! We're glad to have you join us. And I know we're all eager to see pictures of your pups! (Most of us use photobucket.com for that purpose, it works really easily.)
  4. I was wowed too at how much less they are for what I use (Frontline Plus). They sent me the box for the wrong size dog at first, but when I contacted them they immediately re-shipped the right size plus a prepaid envelope for returning the other, so while I was ticked off (ha!) for a moment I ended up pretty happy and will order from them again.
  5. Thriftyvet.com had the lowest prices I could find when I was looking a couple of months ago.
  6. Digestive enzymes are supposed to help if the problem is coming from his GI system rather than his mouth. (I use them daily for my dog, but can't vouch for their effect on breath.) This is what I use, there are other brands: http://www.petco.com/product/15189/In-Clov...d-for-Dogs.aspx It certainly couldn't hurt him in any way to try it. Have you consulted with a vet about the breath issue specifically?
  7. I'm happy everything, er, came out OK! Would some probiotics be useful, if the antibiotics contributed to a GI issue?
  8. That's so great! I've had laser on a knee that gives me trouble and it definitely helps.
  9. Mine's on Sentinel, no problems that I've seen. Hmm, I didn't think about spacing it out from the Frontline Plus, though sometimes they've been on a different schedule -- I may think about keeping it that way.
  10. I'm so sorry. Good thoughts for both of you . . . I hope they figure out what's going on quickly!
  11. Hi, and welcome from Iowa! Do you have a greyhound? Are you thinking of getting one? We'd love to hear all about it. I remember when I nervously delurked in August . . . and now look at me....
  12. I am so terribly sorry. I can't imagine the shock. My thoughts will be with you.
  13. Glad things went well! Can't wait for the update! I have some steep stairs down to my basement that my grey doesn't do, and I just keep the cat's food on the first step down (and the litter in the basement). Dog shopping is very exciting, isn't it? Nice to have that new Petsmart so close!
  14. She'll be in my thoughts. I'm glad you are able to get in to the vet right away! "Madame Sniffs-a-lot" -- mine too!
  15. I'm relieved to hear a positive update! Sending you and Kylie good thoughts, and will be checking in later in the day.
  16. I am so sorry! I can't imagine what you're going through (or, I can, but I can't bear to -- the uncertainty is the worst). You and Kylie will be in my thoughts; I hope they figure out the problem quickly and it's readily treatable.
  17. Oh, what a sweet boy. I'm so sorry. I had to put my special black and white kitty to sleep this past summer, and I miss him every day. (Oddly, now that I think of it, he was called Bandit too when I adopted him.) My thoughts are with you.
  18. Oh Cully, I am so terribly sorry -- I can't even imagine. What a shock. You'll be in my thoughts, and I'll give Beth an extra hug tonight. Run free in the widest, greenest fields you've ever seen, Jojo.
  19. So how did the home visit go? And when will you be getting your houndie??
  20. Good, brave girl, Capri! Beth stumbles on my stairs once in a while, but no biggie. I bet the incident will teach Capri to watch her foot placement just a little bit more. I'm glad she's doing well -- she sounds like a happy girl!
  21. My understanding is that pretty much all female greyhounds have this. It's testosterone they use. She won't be any different than any other female ex-racer.
  22. Wow, welcome! I live in Iowa presently but my parents live in Monroe. I'll be visiting them in July (with my grey Beth, whom I got last August), and I have a grey-owning neighbor/friend who lives there full time. Maybe we can have a playdate then. When you get your grey, check out the weekly greyhound hikes in Waywayanda State Park (not far from Warwick)! http://home.earthlink.net/~hiking-greyhounds/index.html. Beth and I joined in for two of them around Christmas -- really fun, I can't wait to go again this summer. You'll love GT!
  23. I'm glad you went too! When you said the eye was red I knew that's what it was going to be. Chances are his symptoms will be vastly improved in a day or two (keep using the drops as prescribed, of course!).
