I think it's a histocytoma. It looks very much likes Gracie's does in the previous picture. This weekend though it got dark and started to bleed. I'm hoping that's the end of it and it will fall off or go away now. I will still have the vet look at it next week if it's still there.

My Eagle (11.5 years old) developed one of these a couple of months ago in almost the exact spot. My vet said it was a growth that happens (similar to a wart) sometimes in older dogs and not to worry about it. How old is Franny?
I am anxious to see what your vet says.
She just turned 7.

I found this on Franny's toe a couple of weeks ago. It's very hard, but it doesn't seem to be bothering her. I do have an appointment for her check-up on the 20th so I will make sure the vet looks at it.
I'm just wondering if anyone else's dog has had something ike this before.

I'm so sorry. I wish I could say I don't know how it feels, but unfortunately I went through this twice in 9 months. My heart is breaking for you.
She will be pain free and running with the others.

I haven't had a visit, but my son has. My husband and I were out in the garage one summer evening and my son ran out to tell us that Rusty was in the living room. He also said that Solo better be careful because he was about to lay down on Rusty. He saw him a few times. He was 6 at the time. I have asked him if he has seen Rusty lately and he said no, Rusty went back to heaven. He has never claimed to see Solo.

Honestly, we didn't take any time off. I live very close to where I work so i would run home on my lunch hour to check on things and let them out, but I only had to do that for a week. Each day I went home, I had to wake them up to let them out. They didn't even know I was there.

You might also want to join the forum on GPA Wisconsin's site. www.gpawisconsin.org There are a few people on there that feed RAW or have in the past, and they may be able to help you out.

I noticed it was back at my local grocery store as well. I almost bought a few just in case.

I buy it too. I made the switch when Canidae changed their formula. Two dogs have eaten it and they have never had any problems with it. I also likr it because it's reasonable priced.

It does kinda look like it. Franny had one on her foot. It eventually bled and then fell off before I could get her to the vet.
