Is it June already? I can't believe it's been three years since Loca and Rusty have left us. Most of you don't know, but my Rusty and Robin's Loca are half sibs. Loca was born a few days before Rusty and also passed a few days before him. I'm sure they hanging out and enjoying each others company.

I'm so sorry.

Hugs to you.

I am going to second the x-ray. At least you will know one way or the other.
-
I'm so sorry. We miss him too. Happy Birthday sweet boy.
-
Congratulations. I love that second picture. It looks like Penny is talking to her.

Always on a leash unless they are in a fully enclosed fenced in area.
-
Oh no, how heartbreaking. He was way too young.
-
I'm so sorry. Run free sweet Gabe.

He is actually right down the road from my work. I have been given permission to visit and hang out with him in the meantime... trust me - i almost wanted to sneak him into my dorm!
The boyfriend and I are going to start discussing replacement names - as Gold doesnt feel right to me...
But aint he just the most handsome bloke!?
Aww, I like that name. Yes, he is very handsome. I have a soft spot for fawns.

my husband likes to heckle the greyhounds. He asks them how many chores they've done to be so tired? He also tells them on occasion that he may as well have gotten a cat if all they're going to do is sleep all day (and night!)
My husband just said to me the other day, we have a 70 pound cat who's litter box is outside.
I once had to carry my grey on a hike. Count yourself lucky.
Are you the one that swung the greyhound over your shoulder? There's a pic of a greyhound being carried through a forest with other greyhounds...where is that pic?!
No, the greyhound slung over the shoulder is Rizzo - he's the one I was talking about, that I featured on my blog! As soon as it's back up and running, I'll post the link. I don't think RooRoo posts much here anymore.
That is one of the best pictures I have ever seen.

This looks so scarey. My dogs have always had blood draws from their legs.
-
Congratulations. Sounds like things are looking up.

Oh my gosh, i gasped when I read this. I am so so sorry for your loss of your baby.

Her name is Charity, she's an 8 year old girl available with Star City Greyhounds.
There is something about her face, but unfortunately, we are too far away.

I've been volunteering with our kennel for a while now, and finally have found my boy. I also have the unique pleasure of meeting (and loving) his momma, who is at the kennel- his entire litter, who is at the kennel- and a handful of his half-siblings from his sire's side (who only has record of the two litters). What an awesome family of dogs!
He, and his litter, are 21 month old racing flunk outs (you can find him on track info as RLM's Warsaw, but he isn't on greyhound-data) and they all came with soda kennel call names: Fanta, Pepsy, Sprite, Cola, and Doctor Pepper.
Without further ado, the Doctor himself:
He had such a great time at his first meet and greet this afternoon, and looooves kids. He learned stairs right away (we live in an apartment) and after all of the excitement of the day he is tiiiiiired. The only one who isn't sure of the whole situation is Orion, the kitty cat, but he's come out from under the bed so that is a good sign. Expect many more pictures to come!
Oh is he cute, but who is the fawn with the white face in the third picture?

As much as you loved this dog, your home was not the right fit and that's ok. She will find the perfect home.
-
Oh no, I'm so sorry.
-
I'm not sure I should even go here, but maybe she needs a friend.
-
Such a sweet pretty girl. I'm so glad you were warm and loved at the end. Run free with all the others sweet girl.
-
I'm very sorry. Run free sweet boy.
-
I have used flour too. Works like a charm. I'm glad she forgave you.
-
Oh no, I didn't want to see her name here. My heart is breaking. Run free sweet girl. We won't forget you.
-
Oh my goodness, that looks scarey. I hope everything turns out alright.

I haven't read all the replies and I can only share my experience. Rusty was doing a lot of panting like you have described at the end. I could not figure out at the time what was wrong, but in the end it turned out he had osteo and was in a lot of pain. I just did not know it until he broke his leg and had to rush him to the emergency vet. He never showed any other signs that there was anything wrong, so I never had the choice of putting him on any kind of pain meds.
