  5. How is your hound today? This happened to Merlin several weeks ago, when we got our first snow since last winter, and he played in it for a while. The next day he was back to normal. As a preventative, I put Musher's Secret on his paws twice a day (you don't have to use it that often) when snow or ice (and salt) are on the ground, and in the summer on very hot days to protect his paws from the hot asphalt.
  6. Sending hugs and keeping my fingers crossed that you hear good news... :goodluck
  7. Thanks for the update Eva - sorry to hear about the mass in Carrier's heart but he sounds cheerful and pretty darn healthy, all things considered! I'll continue to keep him (and you) in my thoughts :goodluck

  16. I'm so sorry, Kim. How shocking, and it all seemed to happen so suddenly. Unfortunately I have no advice to offer, as I have not experienced this before. I am keeping you and your family in my thoughts...

  18. Not been through osteosarcoma, so no advice to give, I'm afraid... I just wanted to send my support...
  19. Oh gosh, my sig was too big , I'm so sorry. That was not intentional. I worked on it again, I'm hoping it's ok now...
  20. Personally I never feed Merlin Milkbones. The only treats I use are greenies (not all the time as they're so expensive!) and mostly Old Mother Hubbard treats, which are all natural, with no additives or stuff like propylene glycol in them. However, I know other hounds who do fine on them. In this case, I guess I would err on the side of caution, take the MBs away, and see if he improves. He may have developed an allergy..? Oh, and Wellness treats are great too, and don't have any gunk in them...
  21. Poor sweetie, hope she feels better soon. I am sure she doesn't hate you... probably just feeling very under the weather. She knows her mom loves her
  22. Yeah, no leaks here either... but it might not be a big deal at all. However. if you push the skin back (sorry - I know - eww) and it looks rather red, it might be a slight inflammation. If it happens again and you're just not sure, I'd call the vet to get it checked out.
