  1. Jack's Go Red ran 98 races all at Tri State an above average track. She was a dog that didn't have a great break, but at times would rush the turn 4th or 5th. When she did that she could close a little and would improve her position from there. Times she broke better than usual she would rush the turn on top or second and those races were the races she got most of her wins and 2nds. She was in the money 52 of her 98 races which is good. While she did win a couple of A races to go to AA she was more a B dog.
  2. LL's Francisco ran 47 races all at Derby Lane, a very good track. He had no early speed and no rush to the turn. None. He was mostly 7th and 8th out of the box and to the turn. He closed a little bit and was in the money 21 of those 47 races which would usually be decent, but he only had one win and three seconds with seven 3rds and ten 4ths. So he was barely hitting the board. It looks like he graded off and was retired. They did try him in the longer 660 yard races, but had the same results. P's Chinch ran 118 races between Bluffs Run, our second best track, and Derby Lane. He had decent good speed and needed it to get to the turn first or second which is where he needed to be to have a chance to win. He usually stayed, within one position up or down, where he was at the turn. So he wasn't a dog that if he didn't have the lead would quit and end up 6th or 7th. He tried hard most races and was in the money a nice 67 of his 118 races. He had sixteen wins, eighteen 2nds, eighteen 3rds and fifteen 4ths. He had a couple of A wins, but was really a nice B dog .
  3. Budz Token ran 182 races all at Sanford Orlando. While Sanford Orlando is a lower end track Budz Token was a very good dog there and probably could have moved to a middle grade track. She was a dog that needed to be 1st or 2nd to the turn to have a chance to win and she had real good speed out of the box and to the turn. So she put herself in a position to win in many of her races. While she could get caught she didn't give up easily as she was first 32 times and second 31 times. She was in the money a total of 108 times in her 182 starts which is a very good number. Nice racer and I'm sure a nice pet. Dick
  4. McGraw ran 25 races between Southland and Palm Beach. Southland is our toughest track with the best dogs and the sprint course is 583 yards which is longer than the usual 550 yards. The track surface isn't as hard as some tracks which makes it a little harder to run on. McGraw, at SL, needed to be on top at the turn to win, otherwise he would fade to the back of the pack. If he was 2nd or 3rd to the turn he sometimes would hang on to be in the money. He did win a couple of races, but moving him was probably a good idea. PB has a harder surface and is our shortest sprint course at 545 yards. McGraw liked PB and he didn't have to be on top at the turn to win. He was now closing from 3rd and 4th to win and other races he was coming from way back to be in the money. After his last win he was scratched the next race. No way to tell why, sometimes the dog is sick and other times there may be an injury. He schooled back in with a win, then ran four bad races in a row and was retired. Since he was still young I would guess that an injury is what made them retire him, but there is no way to know that for sure. The scratch may have had nothing to do with an injury and he may have done something in the schooling win that wasn't detected at first. Dick
  5. Jey, the reason I suggested mixing them is a lot of people put way to much down. I don't know about the pet safe ice melt, but if you put down one piece of rock salt and saw the area it melts many people would be surprised. However, that makes sense to put a course sand on the thicker icy areas. Dark colors and the sun are your friend during the winter.
  6. I would mix sand with the ice melt so you don't use as much ice melt. The dark color will help absorb the sunlight and give good footing.
  7. I think it was Dr. Fenwick if I remember correctly.
  8. That is not enough to feed him. My guess is the dog was maintaining his weight because he wasn't getting a lot of exercise. If you keep him and take him to a park to run around or walk him a lot you would probably see him lose weight. On top of that you have to wonder how much of that cup a day is going to the dog and how much is filler and just coming out the other end. Anyone that feeds raw will tell you that there is a lot less poop because there is less that the body can't use. Plus, you will see some dogs that race for two and a half or three years will usually have their set weight for racing increased because a dog at 18 months is still growing. If that 18 month old has a set weight of 63 pounds by the time he is 24 to 26 months old he should have his set weight increased a couple of pounds as he finished filling out. Dick
  9. San Tan Outsider ran 75 races between Tri State and Orange Park with TS being the better of the two, but both pretty good tracks. At TS he showed no speed out of the box or rush to the turn, but he could close some and if he was in a good position at the turn he could win, but the track was pretty tough for him and he was moved to OP. There he broke a little better , but probably didn't run any better at OP as he did at TS. So he was a C/D dog that was in the money 50 percent of the time. Gabes Gogo ran 129 races between Naples and Jefferson County. She was a dog that had good early speed and was often to the turn in the top three. She wasn't a great closer, but could, at times, close a little and come from 3rd to win. She also wasn't a dog that gave up much of her position so if she was in the top three to the turn she was probably going to end up in the top three. She was good B dog. Dick
  10. DK'S Stryker ran 20 races all at Daytona. He had no early speed, no rush to the turn and no late speed. LOL Since there are no other options he is right where he belongs, on your couch. He managed just two fourths in his 20 races. Dick
  11. He never missed a start except for one when he was only off for 10 days and might have been just to rest him. So nothing that indicates an injury. At the end of his career he was tried in 330 yard super sprints and he didn't do well. It looks like he might have graded off the track and 6 weeks later they gave him a schooling race, he did poorly and that was it. So whether he was injured or just graded off and rested I don't know, but that is the only time he was off for an extended period of time. If he graded off he would have to be off for 30 days so there may or may not have been an injury involved.
  12. Starman ran 98 races all at Wheeling, one of our better tracks. He was a dog that had to be on top at the turn to have any chance to win since he is what we call and early speed quitter. Once he wasn't on top he would usually drift towards the back of the pack. To show you what I mean of his 98 races he had 8 wins, 8 seconds, 6 thirds and 20 fourths. He could win in grade C, but once he got to B his speed went away and he didn't compete well in B. He would then drop to C and would start getting out again and hit the board and eventually win, go to B and repeat the cycle again. Running 98 races and being in the money almost half the time is a decent career. Dick
  13. It's how she is wired and it's how she will always run. Just like you can't teach a dog to run inside or outside you can't teach them not to pace.
  14. Got it. PR Star Light ran 74 races between St. Pete. Sarasota and Ebro. She was what we call a pacer. She was better than what she showed, but she elected to run with the dog next to her. She paced. They are the most frustrating dogs to a trainer because they are better than what they run. If you look at her on TrackInfo you will see many lines that are the same number as you read across. 3 3 3 3 or 6 6 6 6 . It doesn't matter where she broke, she would pace with the dog next to her. Those numbers may vary one number up or down so she might be 3 3 4 3. She only had 6 wins, but was in the money a very nice 48 out of 74 races. Dick
  15. I can't find anything on this dog. Are you sure the spelling is correct? I fooled around a little with the name, but came up empty. Dick
  16. RC Easy Cash ran 115 races all at Wheeling, one of our best tracks. He wasn't a great breaker or even a good breaker often times coming out of the box 6th, 7th or 8th. He didn't have a great rush to the turn, but he rushed a little and usually improved his position from the break. From the backstretch to the finish line is where he would do his best running. He was almost always bettering his position and was in the money a very nice 69 times out of his 115 starts. He ran mostly in grade A, but did go to AA a few times and won a couple of AA races, but for the most part he had trouble in AA. He was a hard trying very nice racer at one of our best tracks. Dick
  17. Rambition was a very, very good racer. He ran 105 races between St. Pete., Mardi Gras and Southland, all very good tracks. He had a decent break and rush to the turn, many times breaking 6th, 5th, 4th or even a little better at times. and getting to the turn 4th or 3rd. From there he could close a little and he was always moving forward improving his position in most races. He spent most of his career in A or AA. He was in the money 72 times in the 105 races he ran which is a very high number.
  18. JSK Macho Man ran 82 races between Wheeling and Palm Beach. He had no early speed and no rush to the turn with many races being 7th or at out of the box and at the turn. he would make up a little ground, sometimes, going down the backstretch. So if he was going to do any running it was from the far turn to the wire and sometimes he would get going till the stretch. While he only won three races he was 2nd. 3rd or 4th 34 times. While he spent most of his career in C and D he was pretty consistent being in the money almost 50 percent of the times.
  19. The larger the wheel the easier it would be going over gravel or small rocks.
  20. This. While I think it is a good idea to take a cart/wagon along you also want her to build muscle back in her remaining leg.
  21. Cute she is. If you look there is a second one that schooled at PB and did well. Their sire, Djays octane, will probably be the number 2 sire this year in back of KC and All.
  22. I would guess yours either wasn't good enough while being finished or was injured because the litter won't be 19 months old till Nov. 25th. This one had her two schooling races at Palm Beach and will run in a maiden race on Saturday. She ran well in both schooling races. http://www.trackinfo.com/dog.jsp?runnername=JS%20KIMBUCKTOO So don't be surprised to see the rest or at least some of them start running in the next month. While a lot of pups start racing at 18 months some don't start till they are 19 or 20 months. I have no idea about these dogs so I'm not saying they will run, just that they may in the next month. If you click the left tattoo link on the link I posted it will list all the pups and if any more start running you will be able to see that they are and where they are running. Dick
  23. Diamond Baby ran his 112 races between Gulf, Melbourne and Ebro. Gulf is in Texas and is a nice mid-level track. The other two are in Florida and are lower-level tracks. I would guess the only reason he got moved is because Gulf closed. He was a dog that needed to be on top at the turn to have a chance to win. He had real good early speed, usually being 1st, 2nd or 3rd out of the box. From there he would have to rush the turn and make it to the front. He could carry his speed, once on top, into the stretch and from there he usually had to hold on at the end. He won 17 races and was in the money 61 times so he was a good racer. In grade B he could catch the front dog if he was 2nd, but that was not the type of dog he was. I think I saw twice that he did that. He ran mostly grades A and B with him winning some A races and going to AA. He never competed well in AA. If you want to see his races go here. http://www.trackinfo.com/dog-search.jsp?keyword=Diamond+Baby&x=2&y=3&by=dogname The first page are all Melbourne and Ebro races and they have no replays so click on the 2 above the lines. The bottom 3 races are from Gulf and if you click the 3 through 9 you will see they all have replays on the right. One glitch on TrackInfo is the bottom race is always the same race on the next page. If you look at the bottom race this is what you need to know before you watch the replay. The first bold number is an 8 and that is the box he is in. Then reading left to right you see 5 2 2, those are his positions at different points of the race. Break, at the turn and entering the stretch. Then you see 1 ns and that means he finished 1st by a nose. If he lost the race those last two numbers or abbreviations, would be where he finished and how far behind the winner he was. So the race above the one we are looking at it shows 6 5. So he finished 6th and was 5 lengths behind the winner. On the G-D site that you gave me the link to I, or others on here on GT, can put you down as the adopted owner, we can delete the pictures that are on there, I assume the adoption group posted them, and put pictures you want posted after you have him a while and we can add a comment. Sometimes people just put XXX was adopted by XXX and is now living in XXX, XXX So if you wish to add anything just post it here, including any pictures you might want to add. Up to three pictures can be posted. you can leave the pictures that are posted and add one more if you want. Dick
  24. Nice. Hope mom and pups are doing well. We'll see them in about 18 months.
