  13. Don't be surprised if he has a couple of good days. Many times they do. hugs,
  14. We've had real good luck with the metacam. We used the liquid (I've read there is a pill) and I liked that it was working within a half hour (usually withing 20 min.) It was easy to dose, too, being a liquid. It's supposed to be easier on the tummy than the others.
  15. I'm so glad Dallas did well. Continued healing thoughts,
  16. Keeping positive thoughts for Dallas and her family,
  17. I think you are right. At this point it seems all he wants is me to love on him. I can't ask anything more out of him. No interest in food tonight. I have tried several different things. He is so tired and I am thinking it is the disease and possibly the Reglan. I might hold off on the Reglan now and see if he perks up at all. Right now he is just content to lay on the couch. He has had a couple visitors today and seemed to enjoy that. But I think he breathing is more labor intensive today than yesterday. The cough just really started a little over a week ago so I am not sure how long he will be comfortable. Have you tried strained babyfood meat? It's always worked here. And my friend Ellen makes scrambled eggs and stirs in some cream cheese just before serving. It was something Rex enjoyed when he was refusing all other food.
  18. I'm so sorry to read this, Donna. I hope Bounty gets some relief form his meds, whatever you and the vet decide to use. I know reglan is for the puking. If his stomach is torn up, I wonder why he isn't on anything for that. At one time, Vinnie was on reglan for puking, pepcid for nausea, carafate for bleeding, and something for the big D. It was a carefully orchestrated schedule I had to keep all meds separate, but his stomach did get better (I had to take the cat vet into the carafate. My preferred vets for the greys were busy) I really hope you both get some relief soon. Hugs,
  19. I am so sorry to read this. Many hugs to you and Saullie,
  20. I am so sorry Amanda for your loss of sweet Greta. Sending hugs,
  21. I am so sorry Donna. Such a ** diagnosis. I have lost two to cancer, and it sucks. If they find that it is the spleen and they decide on hemangiosarcoma, watch for Bounty to have problems breathing. With my Rex, the tumors in his lungs began to pop, and he couldn't breathe. I kept pain meds on board until it was time for him to go. Again, I am so sorry for the diagnosis. Hugs to you and sweet kisses to Bounty Boon.
  22. Donna, The carafate will not only lay down a sort of mesh gel to coat and protect the stomach's lining, but it will also help heal whatever is bleeding. We used it with Vinnie and his gut bleed. We didn't know why he was bleeding either. He was not on NSAIDS or anything that causes bleeds. The carafate did a wonderful job within days, and he never bled again. Later when he was on lots of pain meds for his back, pepcid was what we used. I'm sorry Bounty is having such a difficult time. I know you're worried. Nothing worse than not knowing what is wrong and not being able to get to the right people to help him ... We're the moms; we're supposed to be able to fix anything Sending hugs,
