Good news! I have been following along, but no advice. Those injuries can be really nasty from my understanding. Wjat horrible timing, but hopefully she's on the road to recovery. Any chance cold laser could help?

Thank you neylasmom and carronstar!!!! The thoughts and love are definitely felt : ) timing is horrible but we believe with extended recovery time and lots of snuggles she will make a full recovery. I am not sure what Cold laser is but we have been submerging the muscle in warm water and giving light massages for now. I'm trying to look up more things to help with greyhound muscle tears; but we are seeing a specialist on Monday who did her surgery.

She's my first grey and she has changed my heart in so many ways

Hey everybody!!!

Apparently phoebe is going to need physical therapy to help manage this. Anybody have any experience with rebuilding muscle in an older grey with physical therapy?

Thanks!!

I did it with Zuri after his LS diagnosis. We did at home exercises while he received massage and cold laser to start and then once he was doing well with that we introduced the underwater treadmill. If you don't have access to one, walking in a body if water is another option, but its not a great time of year for that unless you're way SW. ;)

Horrible news. There is a lot of fluid still in her back left leg. They took a sample of that and a CBC off to a pathologist. They told me the edema could be an infection causing an abcess or cancer. Obviously they can't amputate her back leg. We're praying for an infection.
