We are adopting a greyhound called Eric within the next couple of weeks, although we need our homecheck first. I'm hopeful that we will pass as we have all the requirements covered I believe! It will be difficult to remember them when you sit there and a beautiful grey is roaming your home. I have been on both sides - had a homecheck decades ago but do several euch year. If it's not, then at least there's more dogs called Eric about, eh? Don't fret the home check. When Alison came around to do ours I was expecting it to be a nightmare, but it really wasn't. It was simply checking the garden was secure, no obvious safety issues indoors and then making sure that I, as a prospective owner, had all the information and resources to make sure I'd thought everything through and definitely wanted to (and was ready to) adopt Belle. Now I read that back, I'll have to keep reminding myself that I really did want to adopt her, when I'm fighting for my seat on the sofa... His name is currently Gaylord so we wanted to change it lol!! He's from Kent Greyhound Rescue. He's as handsome as the original Eric I think. Thanks for what you said about the home check.
