Walliered
Please tell me again what the name of the blood test is for a 9 1/2 year old greyhound. DaVid is coming up for it. Thanks
tbhounds
You should run a general chemistry panel with a comprehensive CBC. Should also run a urinalysis, a snap 4dx (heartworm tick borne disease test) and submit a fecal sample (fresh out of the factory ;-). I wanted to add that many clinics offer a extensive "geriatric panel" which includes many of the above mentioned tests-it's usually less expensive to run the whole panel rather than run separate tests. NeylasMom
Yep, my vet has a senior panel that includes the full blood chemistry, T4, and urinalysis that is cheaper. The snap test is separate, we do that annually, but we don't run fecals unless there are symptoms. MaryJane
The urine should be a "first-morning" specimen as this provides the best basis for the urine specific gravity test.
GeorgeofNE
They just call it the senior panel where I go. Quote Susan, Hamish, Mister Bigglesworth and Nikita Stanislav. Missing Ming, George, and Buck
