Hollis
Has anyone ever heard of or used these? Had to pick up kibble for the kids last night and cookies. Stumbled upon z bones. Thought I'd give them a try as you could buy them individually , so I could just get the four. Gave them to the kids this morning. Norm either had no interest or it was just to tough for him. Maci ran to her room with it and didn't come out until she was done! Dash was able to get thru his with no problem. And Greta liked hers so much, she got Norms when I wasn't looking! I'm hoping these will help with teeth. Anyone else? Quote My sweet angel Tanner-"Showoffs Magic" 79D-82695. DOB 7/22/99. Gotcha Day 6/20/05. Bridge Day 3/11/10. OwnedBySummer
Much better ingredient list than many of the dental chews on the market. I like the sound of this one. What size did you buy? Hollis
Argh. I believe the large. I have a 50, a 60, and a 70 pounder. And then the size appropriate for my weenie, who is under 20. The store I bought from-the owner is hysterical. I put them on the counter and said, what do you thnk? He had a one word response. "Crap". Then I said, ok...what about Greenies? At which point the z bones became prime rib! He did actually retract his statement and say this were pretty good, just all carbs. And anything I can do to help with the breath....... Hollis
Nope. Just the fruit. But that didn't stop the kids here! Quote My sweet angel Tanner-"Showoffs Magic" 79D-82695. DOB 7/22/99. GreyhoundGirl
I love Zukes...their ingredient list is great and I'm trying to buy only products made in the USA. Plus, the dogs LOVE their treats. I looked at the bones (or something like it) but I just couldn't get past the price. I will probably cave and pick them up eventually because they look really intersesting and better than Greenies.
greyhoundlady
We use the Zuke's Z Bones here as they have good ingredients, completely digestible, made in USA, and hard, for teeth cleaning. However, my guy is not ga ga over them - maybe the cherry flavor sometimes. (No meat flavors :-)) In the taste test department, he goes for a Greenie every time. The Zuke's lay around for a bit, but then he eventually eats it when the mood strikes. I like that they keep him busy for more than a couple of minutes :-). I get them on line, and they are pricey, but I like the natural aspect of them. One product he really loves is the Zuke's Mini Naturals - Savory Salmon Recipe. They are just tiny tidbits and great for training, filling a Kong, or keeping in your pocket (in a bag) for tiny rewards.
RedHead
Much better ingredient list than many of the dental chews on the market. I like the sound of this one. What size did you buy? Have you checked out the PC Nutrition First bones?? They are very similiar, having really good ingredients for a dental chew. You can get them at No Frills here, and they are around $3.99 for a package of two 6 inch bones. The other similar type brands are double that for one, and I actually prefer the ingredients in the PC over any of them. If you are looking for this type of chew you may want to check them out. I don't think they are available in the U.S. http://www.presidentschoice.ca/LCLOnline/products.jsp?type=details&brandId=4&tags=lclot89013&productId=prod1150025&
Sambuca
I've given these before and the dogs like then and do well on them. I but the size smaller than what they recommend for weight because hounds have smaller mouths.

I'll check our local Zehrs the next time I'm there, I'm pretty sure they have all of the Nutrition First products as the packaging is very, very familiar. Thanks! ETA: I see Zukes has vegetable glycerin and the PC Nutrition First proudly states that they have no added glycerin. Can anyone tell me what glycerin does? Guest sirsmom
About 2 months ago, the evening news mentioned that glycerin was a common ingredient in all of the recalled dog jerky treats making dogs very ill and they are investigating it.
