It seems to be about half the cost of the Merial Heartgard, depending on where you get the heartgard. Need to get more, last batch came from the vet with a rebate. A fairly well known vet with a ton of greyhound experience told me that in her opinion Heartgard was both vastly overpriced and overrated. BauersMom Posted April 19, 2011 Share Posted April 19, 2011 Ivermectin is the HW preventative in Heartgard, yes. Heartgard also has pyrantel, which is the roundworm and hookworm prevention.
